Jenna Ortega, star of Netflix’s comedy horror Wednesday, has revealed that she has always been a "weirdo".

The 20-year-old actress took on the titular role in the new Addams family spinoff series. The iconic character Wednesday Addams is the 13-year-old daughter of Gomez and Morticia Addams who is notoriously obsessed with death.

In a press run for the new Tim Burton show, Ortega shared her connections to all the dark characters she's played in her career so far during Wired's Autocomplete Interview series.

While the horror projects might be a little challenging for some, the Scream actress takes it in stride, expressing herself as someone who's intrigued by the spookier things in life.

During a segment in the interview - where celebrities answer questions that fans have googled about them - Ortega was asked about her close friendship with Maddie Ziegler, whom she starred alongside in The Fallout.

"She’s one of my greatest friends ever," Ortega said about the 20-year-old Dance Moms alum. "She was somebody that I instantly clicked with. We did a movie called 'The Fallout' a couple years back, and I feel like Maddie and I are the same person in different fonts."

She then went on to reveal a bizarre confession, saying: "She’s such a weirdo and I’m a weirdo in the way I used to perform autopsies on little animals when I was younger. Little lizards that I found that were dead in my backyard."

"She’s a weirdo in the sense that she breaks out into characters or movements or makes faces," she continued, adding, "Her comedic timing is so underappreciated. She makes me laugh. We have a good time. We’re really weird together."

The You star did not elaborate on her childhood extracurricular activities but spoke about how her gravitation toward horror scripts is "natural" for her.

Speaking to The Face, Ortega explained her fascination, saying: "I love things that are a bit off-putting, things when the closer you look, really aren’t that pretty. I love things that are disturbing."

"I think we find each other," she explained. "There’s some invisible string that’s connected to serial killers, monsters, creatures, and myself. No matter where I go."

The Fall Out actress added that she feels like the horror/thriller genre has always been "attractive" to her since she was a young girl.

"I feel like it’s something that’s always been attractive to me since I was younger, something I was always into. It’s what feels right to me and it tends to be the scripts I’m into," Ortega concluded.

Wednesday - also starring Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Fred Armisen, and Isaac Ordonez - is now streaming on Netflix.
