Johnny Depp has given the experience of a lifetime to a terminally ill fan, after he donned his old costume from Pirates of the Caribbean to send him a sweet message.
The 59-year-old actor - who dominated the headlines for much of this year following his bitter court dispute with ex-wife Amber Heard in April and June - had previously played Captain Jack Sparrow in the hit Disney franchise from 2003 to 2017.
Depp has spoken at length about his role as the lovable and witty (yet often inebriated) pirate, revealing that he based the character's personality on The Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards - who is widely known to have become concussed from falling out of a coconut tree in 2006. How very Jack Sparrow-esque.
Now, it appears Depp is once again reprising his role as the Captain of the Black Pearl. However, this time he was doing so in good spirit - making a young fan's dreams come true with a personal and heartfelt message.
Kori, an 11-year-old aspiring YouTuber, suffers from a terminal heart condition and remains in palliative care after two heart transplants. His goal, however, has been to get more subscribers to his YouTube channel, and it seems Captain Jack Sparrow wanted to lend a hand.
"Captain Kori... I understand you're quite the YouYube channel man... so what I'm saying is, I would be glad to follow your YouTube channel and will tell all my friends to follow your YouTube channel," Depp said in the clip.
"I wish you the best of luck, I'm your number one fan Captain Kori, all my respect and love," he added.
The father-of-two even went one step further and FaceTimed Kori in full costume, pretending that he was aboard his pirate ship and making small talk with the young fan.
Surrounded by candlesticks and candelabras, Depp joked: "I'm extremely flammable, I'm amongst so much fire with the candles I'm afraid this adventure might go awry."
He then went on to compliment Kori, who was sporting his own brown tricorne hat, and even 'knighted' the youngster with Captain Sparrow's sword. Though, Kori - who now has more than 180,000 YouTube subscribers - teased that he wouldn't be uploading a video of that moment until he reached 200,000.
Many of Kori's subscribers sent their well-wishes and praised Depp, with one person writing: "Awe, Johnny Depp is an angel on earth. The man has a huge heart. Johnny has always been different compared to other people in Hollywood. He's always stayed true to himself and walked his own road, dances to the beat of his own drum. He's a true rock star [...]️ I hope you feel better Captain Kori, never stop fighting and know that people do care. Merry Christmas, Sweetheart!"
"Kori's story on YT is the reason why the Internet exists. Screw all the other fraud, attacks, drama, and bullc**p... THIS is what we should be doing as humans on Spaceship Earth! Captain Kori; you are the joy this world needs and I am ever thankful for being able to help bring your dreams to reality. :D," someone else added.
Something tells us it won't be long until he hits that next YouTube milestone, given his superstar support.
