People take issue with virtually everything these days - and this is something that Kate Hudson learned the hard way last year after she posted an image of her then-three-year-old daughter sucking on a pacifier.

The fallout started in September 2021 when Hudson shared an image of herself and her daughter, Rani Rose, posing in front of a mirror while Rani sucked on her pacifier. A seemingly harmless image, although, it apparently wasn't for many users who had something to say about it.

"Kate don't you think Rani Rose is way too old for a pacifier [sic]," one person commented at the time of the now-year-old post.

While another harshly remarked: "Get rid of that stupid pacifier."

Someone else decided to comment a personal anecdote about their cousin, writing: "I have a cousin whose mouth & teeth were affected from overuse of a binky for too many years. Braces and the works. Didn't think his mouth would ever NOT appear to have a binky in it. She's your kid, so it's not my problem, but she's WAY to old for that and being an enabler isn't helpful. Just sayin’."

Though, many users leaped to the mom-of-three's defense, with one user saying: "People will never stop trying to tell other people how to parent [...] must be nice to be so perfect!"

"If this was me I would post binky pictures every day now just to p*** them off, because I'm petty like that [...] you do you mama. She's adorable," someone else added.

Someone else decided to chime in: "Adorable! Love the two of you just enjoying life! Ignore the haters! Many on here need to STFUP! You do you! Glad your precious daughter can be a kid and enjoy her childhood and not rushed to grow up too fast! What a great momma you are! Hugs!"

A year on, the comments clearly haven't deterred 43-year-old Hudson, who continues to share sweet snaps of Rani Rose, with the most recent being a cute birthday post for her fourth birthday.

Hudson - who is the daughter of the legendary Goldie Hawn and step-daughter to the equally as legendary Kurt Rusell - shares Rani Rose with her fiancé, Danny Fujikawa, a record company owner and musician. She also has two sons from previous relationships - 18-year-old Ryder with Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson and 11-year-old Bingham with Muse frontman Matt Bellamy.

Well, with an all-star family like that, it's obvious why Hudson can easily block out the haters!
