Keanu Reeves and his band are set to release their first songs after a 21-year hiatus, and in the words of Bill and Ted: Excellent!

Hollywood's most loved man is the gift that keeps on giving as he continues to produce incredible movies alongside being an absolute gentleman.

The 58-year-old was a bass player in the Los Angeles alternative rock band, Dogstar, which formed in 1991 before calling it quits in 2002.

Reeves formed the band with Robert Mailhouse and Gregg Miller, though the latter left in 1995 and was replaced by Bret Domrose.

After a 21-year break, the band has teased their return after uploading an image to their Instagram account that appears to be the cover of a piece of music artwork.

The behind-the-scenes image was shared with a caption that read: "Last set up on the roof in Lincoln Heights for @dogstarband photo shoot. Exciting news coming soon. Thanks for being so patient."

Fans of the band couldn't contain their excitement as they flocked to the comments of the image to express how happy it made them.

One person penned: "For so many years we never even thought a come back was possible, this is like a dream come true [...] seriously lookimg [sic] forward to it all."

A second added: "That’s awesome this is you guys older, so does this mean you’re going back on the road going to start doing some shows I’d like to know where please."

A third wrote: "This is really a great photo of you guys. Can't wait to hear the new album of you and i so hope that you will come to Germany on tour again."

An image that was uploaded to the Instagram account over a month ago showed a set of drums alongside the caption: "Dogstar getting ready for the summer and writing more new material."

It's safe to assume that we can expect some new music from Dogstar in the summer - and anything that Reeves does is okay with us!

We'll keep our eyes and ears peeled for any further announcements from the band!
