Keanu Reeves has revealed that he's technically married to actress Winona Ryder.

The Matrix star, 57, accidentally tied the knot with Ryder back in 1992 while filming a scene for Francis Ford Coppola's Dracula.

It was only supposed to be an on-screen-romance - but because the wedding was officiated over by real Romanian priests, Reeves believes they have been married "under the eyes of God" ever since.

"We did a whole take of a marriage ceremony with real priests," he explained in an interview with Esquire. "Winona says we are. Coppola says we are. So I guess we're married."

Ryder, 50, opened up about her 'marriage' to Reeves in a 2018 interview with Entertainment Weekly.

"We actually got married in Dracula. No, I swear to god I think we're married in real life. In that scene, Francis [Ford Coppola] used a real Romanian priest. We shot the master and he did the whole thing. So, I think we're married," said the Stranger Things actress.

Despite their almost thirty-year union, Reeves and Ryder have never dated in real life - though they did star together in the 2018 movie Destination Wedding.

In 2019, Reeves made his relationship with visual artist Alexandra Grant public, while Ryder has reportedly been with fashion designer Scott Mackinlay Hahn since 2011.

Elsewhere in the interview, Reeves opened up about his friendship with co-star Sandra Bullock, who he first appeared alongside in the 1994 blockbuster Speed.

They reunited in 2006 for the fantasy comedy-drama The Lake House. The pair's on-screen chemistry and close friendship have led to years of rumors they might be romantically involved.

But Reeves gave nothing away, saying only that he would love to work with the Oscar-winning actress again.

"I think we have good chemistry. And it would be really exciting and interesting to get the chance to perform with her again," he confided.

The interview and cover shoot come as the star is promoting his latest movie - a highly-anticipated new installment in The Matrix series.

Set to premiere in late December, The Matrix: Resurrections will be the first Matrix movie to hit cinemas since The Matrix: Revolutions was released back in 2003.

Reeves, who starred in all three of the original films, will reprise his iconic role Neo.
