Kelly Rowland has opened up about the awkward moment when she accidentally spoiled Beyonce's gender reveal.

Making an appearance on Billy Mann's 'Yeah, I F***** That Up' podcast, the 42-year-old recalled the dreaded interview in which she let her former bandmate's baby's gender slip to the public.

When asked about the biggest mistake she's ever made during an interview, she said: "Oh my God. When I made a mistake and told the sex of [Beyoncé’s] baby when she was pregnant with Blue, that was the worst moment ever.

"The worst moment ever," she emphasized to Mann.

Rowland then explained how she didn't even realize that she'd messed up until the headlines started to pour in.

"I was like, 'What are they talking about? I didn’t say...Oh my God!'" she continued. "It was bad because it was no one’s business."

"I felt terrible because it was not my news. It was honestly the worst. It wasn’t my news to share, and I didn’t meant it like that. The 'she' just kind of slipped out. I was like, 'Uh oh,'" she added.

For those of you that don't remember the incident, it was back in 2011, when Rowland was speaking with US Weekly and discussing possible gift options for Beyonce's baby.

The 'When Love Takes Over' singer responded: "I don’t know... I think her dad is gonna give her everything anyways, all I can give her is love."

At the time, neither Beyonce or her husband had revealed the gender of the child.

And just to make matters a little worse, Rowland also committed the same blunder during another interview but this time with MissInfo.tv saying: "I have no idea what I’m going to buy Beyoncé at the baby shower because Jay is going to buy that little girl every single thing possible.

"She won’t be spoiled but she will be very well looked-after," she added.

Yikes.

Beyonce gave birth to her now 11-year-old daughter Blue Ivy Carter in January 2012. Beyoncé and Jay-Z also share twins Rumi and Sir, who were born in 2017 via emergency C-section.

Speaking of her daughter back in 2020 with British Vogue, the star opened up about her little one in a rare moment.

"Blue is very smart, and she is aware that there is a shift, but it is my job as a parent to do my best to keep her world as positive and safe as can be for an eight-year-old," Beyoncé said.

"My best advice is to love them harder than ever," she continued, speaking of parenting during the pandemic. "I let my children know that they are never too young to contribute to changing the world. I never underestimate their thoughts and feelings, and I check in with them to understand how this is affecting them. Blue saw some of the reactions to the 'Brown Skin Girl' video, as well as some of the videos from the philanthropic work I’ve done this year.

"When I tell her I’m proud of her, she tells me that she’s proud of me and that I’m doing a good job. It’s teeeeeew much sweetness. She melts my heart. I believe the best way to teach them is to be the example," she added.
