Khloe Kardashian has been accused of "blackfishing" after she debuted a controversial Halloween costume this year.

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star posted a series of snapshots of her latest Halloween look which has hurled a wave of backlash towards her.

The star was seen posing in a Bratz-inspired uniform which consisted of a yellow patterned mini dress with a long-sleeved white shirt underneath. On her head, she wore a matching beret and platinum blonde wig while holding a plaid-print 'Bratz' hand bag in her hands.

She paired the look with a pair of chunky knee-high platforms as well as a bold make-up look that closely resembles the classic UK Black girl makeup trend with the bold lined lips and thick winged liner.

Have a look at the post below:

Not only that, but the 39-year-old also seemingly got herself an extra vibrant tan to mimic the skin tone of some of the Bratz dolls - which obviously did not sit well with fans.

"No one’s gonna talk about her skin being 10 times darker lol," wrote one user while another added: "Girl I thought this was a random black woman."

A third accused the star of "blackfishing" writing: "Black fishing periodddd."

For those of you that aren't familar with the phrase, "blackfishing" is the act of someone who is not Black pretending to be Black with the use of methods such as makeup, tanning, or technology like filters and Photoshop. Regardless of the intent behind blackfishing, doing it can have negative mental health effects on Black people.

Another Instagrammer also chimed in to question: "You were black for Halloween?"

The comments didn't stop there, as thousands of others also wondered why the Kardashian sister had decided to change her entire skin tone for the sake of a costume.

"Y’all love doing black face smh," this user said.

"I love u khlo but this ain’t it! U didn’t have to become darker to be a bratz doll," another added.

In another post showing off the costume, Khloe also posed alongside her sister Kim, who wore a similar pink 'fit for her Bratz-inspired look as well as two of her friends, Natalie Halcro and Olivia Pierson, who wore black and blue dresses and similar make up styles to complete the four-some.

This isn't the first time Khloe has been on the receiving end of "blackfishing" accusations.

Last year, the 39-year-old was slammed after her appearance while attending The Kardashians' press event.

The Good American founder turned up at the the beach party in Malibu wearing a hot pink jumpsuit but the only thing that was more vibrant than the color of her outfit was her tan that seemed to be significantly darker than her normal skin tone.

Her critics flooded a Kardashian Reddit thread to slam her darker skin color.

"How dark do you want your tan?" one person wrote, while another added: "She looks very pretty but that tan is vicious."

"This is straight-up blackfishing," a third posted.

But hey, some people never learn, do they?
