Celebrity business manager Angela "Angie" Kukawasi, who had A-listers such as the Kardashians and Nicki Minaj among her clients, has been found dead in the trunk of her car.
The Los Angeles police said on Wednesday, December 29, they arrested her boyfriend Jason Barker on charges of murdering her.
The LAPD said in a statement: "Kukawasi’s boyfriend, 49-year-old Jason Barker, was arrested on suspicion of murder. He was booked into Van Nuys jail and since the arrest, the Los Angeles County District attorney’s office has filed murder charges on Barker."
Kukawasi, 55, was reported missing on December 22.
Her body was found in the trunk of her car the next day parked at the 1500 block of Patricia Avenue in Simi Valley, the statement added.
The detectives probing the homicide claimed that Barker allegedly killed Kukawasi inside their Sherman Oaks residence, placed her inside her vehicle, and drove to Simi Valley.
"At about 2 AM on December 23, LAPD investigators contacted Simi Valley Police and said they were coming into our jurisdiction on this investigation that was initially characterized as missing person investigation," Simi Valley Police spokesman Officer Nicholson said, per New York Post.
"About an hour later, LAPD recontacted Simi Police and said they located the missing person, but unfortunately she was deceased in the car."
Police found Kukawski's body in the back seat of the car.
Nicholson also confirmed that Barker has a relative who lives on the street in Simi Valley where Kukawski's body and vehicle were found.
Following the sad news of Kukawasi's death, the Kardashians released a statement saying their former business manager will be "greatly missed".
"Angela was truly the best. She cared about every one of us and made things happen that were impossible. She will be greatly missed and we send our sincere condolences to her family and loved ones during this most difficult time," the Kardashian-Jenner family told People magazine.
Meanwhile, rapper Nicki Minaj also took to social media to express condolences for her former manager's death.
"Hardest working, most reliable, sweetest person you could ever know. You didn't deserve this, Angela. My heart is breaking for your children. Rest In Peace," she posted on Instagram.
