Madonna's 16-year-old son David Banda wore a recreation of his mom's iconic '90s Adidas dress to a boxing event in New York City's Barclays Center.
The 63-year-old pop star stepped out with her son on Saturday night (May 28) to the WBA World Lightweight Championship.
The pair were in matching Adidas outfits, with the 'Like A Prayer' singer sporting Adidas' signature three white stripes in an all-black look, accessorized with a big cross necklace - and Banda wearing a red and white striped dress.
Banda's dress appears to be a tribute to his mom as the 'Material Girl' singer wore a similar dress to the premiere of Sleepless in Seattle alongside Rosie O'Donnell in 1993.
Her son's Saturday night outfit is part of the upcoming collaboration between Adidas and Gucci, launching on June 7.
Gucci shared an Instagram post on Monday about the duo and wrote: "Attending the WBA World Lightweight Championship in New York, David Banda wore an Adidas x Gucci dress in a past-meets-present moment - his mother, Madonna, was captured in 1993 wearing the dress it was inspired by."
"The archival original was part of an official collaboration between the sportswear brand and Laura Whitcomb of Label NYC and re-envisioned by Alessandro Michele within his Exquisite Gucci collection," the brand also shared in the caption.
The Grammy-award-winning musician also shared a series of photos of her night out with her son captioned: "Family fight night."
Madonna has spoken about motherhood and mentioned Banda in interviews. She told British Vogue in 2019 that he's the one she has the "most in common" with, and she also mentioned: "I feel like he gets me; he has more of my DNA than any of my children so far."
The 16-year-old is one of the musician's six kids. She shares daughter Lourdes Leon, 25, with actor Carlos Leon and son Rocco Ritchie, 21, with director Guy Ritchie. She's also mom to Mercy James, 16, and twin girls Stella and Estere, 9.
Banda turned 16 in September last year, and Madonna celebrated the special occasion by posting a series of photos on Instagram of her son over the years with a sweet caption.
"I cannot believe you have grown into This Young Man! This Artist. This Athlete. This Articulate and Charismatic Human. Who knew when I met you at Home of Hope Orphanage in Malawi, drinking coke out of a baby bottle and wearing no diaper that you would become this force of nature?" she wrote.
