Michael Oher has scored a different kind of touchdown.

Congratulations are in order for the former 36-year-old NFL player Michael Oher and his longtime girlfriend, Tiffany Roy, as they tied the knot over the weekend.

Oher - whose story inspired the Academy Award-nominated film The Blind Side - announced his marriage on his Instagram page on Monday, November 7.

"Filled with joy, can’t believe people took their time and came to celebrate! My beautiful wife, I love you so much, thank you for blessing me with our family!" the former athlete wrote alongside a photo of the two standing at the altar.

Check out Oher's post below:

"Easily the best single weekend I’ve ever been a part of," he said. "Not being from the area everyone came to was even more special"

"I won’t be able to tell everyone to thank you, if I saw you this weekend, thank you! I’m complete, let’s keep trending upward!" Oher added.

The newlyweds have been together for 17 years and met at the administration building of the University of Mississippi. They got engaged on July 12, 2021, and wed at the JW Marriott in Nashville, Tennessee, on November 5, according to People.

The outlet also reported that the couple's son Kobi (they are also parents to son MJ and daughters Kierstin and Naivi) accompanied the bride down the aisle to Beyonce's 'Halo'. She then joined the groom and recited their personalized vows.

"The most magical part was our vows," Roy told People. "To hear Mike express his feelings in front of 200-plus people was astonishing and romantic. I really felt like a true Queen."

"For a few seconds, my mind was cloudy," the new wife said about the ceremony. "Everything was moving so fast that I could not hear or focus on my own thoughts."

"Until I felt my dress get caught on my shoe, which prevented me from walking," she added. "That's when everything became clear. I heard my son ask me, 'Are you ready?' and I said 'Of course I am, I've been waiting a long time for this magical day.'"

With the couple still relishing in all the special moments from their special day, the missus said that she feels blessed to spend her life with her significant other.

"He is charming, loving, kind, funny, handsome, a great listener, a great cook, and an amazing father to our kids," she told the outlet.

"Michael has a glow in his eyes when he looks at me. He puts me first no matter what he has on his schedule for the day he makes sure his family is taken care of. I love his love for his family and our kids," Roy added.

The former's athlete's life story was told in Michael Lewis' 2006 book The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game, which was later adapted into a movie starring Sandra Bullock in 2009.

The actor was portrayed by Quinton Aaron and his adoptive mother, Leigh Anne Tuohy, was played by Bullock who later won an Academy Award for best actress.

Oher was adopted by Leigh Anne and her husband, Sean Tuohy when he was a teenager after he spent time being in and out of foster care. They took him in and helped him with his education and football career.

After attending the University of Mississippi, where he met Roy, Oher was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the first round of the 2009 NFL draft.

In 2016, the NFL player's adoptive mother spoke about the film with Today Parents and said: "It’s a great movie. We were really pleased. The fact of the matter is, everyone has a story and ours just happens to be the one that was told."

"When people see this movie, they realize there are other Michael Ohers out there who can make something of their lives if someone just turns around and asks how they can help," she added.

Congratulations Oher and Roy!
