Mighty Ducks star Shaun Weiss celebrated being two years sober today with an incredible transformation selfie - and a spot of his favorite takeout.

The 43-year-old actor - who starred in the hit Disney trilogy back in the 1990s - has struggled with addiction for years.

As well as living on the streets he has had multiple run-ins with the law in the past. But Weiss was thrown a lifeline in 2020 when he was released from jail and entered a court-ordered rehab program.

Since then the former child-star has gone from strength to strength. Today he celebrated two years of sobriety, sharing a picture on Instagram that showed off his incredible transformation.

"A journey of a thousand miles begins with 12 steps," read a caption on the picture, which showed him at his lowest point before rehab on the left, and then smiling and healthy on the right.

Weiss' caption referred to the tried-and-true 12-step recovery program.

According to TMZ, Weiss also marked the special occasion by ordering matzo ball soup from a favorite restaurant of his - Brent's Deli in Los Angeles.

It's been a long road to recovery for the actor, who has undergone dental reconstruction surgery as part of his rehab transformation.

Thankfully though, he seems to be out of the woods and is even working again. According to reports, he has been making money doing signings and small appearances, as well as writing and working on his standup.

Weiss first started acting in 1986 when he was just eleven years old and shot to fame playing goalie Greg Goldberg in Disney's 1992 hit The Mighty Ducks.

He went on to star in the two more Mighty Ducks movies, and most recently appeared in the 2008 comedy Drillbit Taylor.

What's more, Weiss made memorable appearances on The Cosby Show, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Boy Meets World, Heavyweights, and Freaks and Geeks.

Along with acting in movies and television shoes, Weiss has also been in over 30 national commercials throughout his career and was even in the Pizza Hut commercial at the beginning of the 1990 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.
