Nick Cannon suffered a bit of a faux pas this week as he forgot one of his children while trying to name all 12 of his offspring.

The TV star, 42, has become notorious for expanding his brood at a rapid rate, having had nine of his 12 kids in just the past three years.

However, with so many children to keep track of, remembering all of their names on cue can be a little bit of a challenge it seems...

Nick managed to forget his daughter Onyx this week while naming all of his progeny on SiriusXM's The Howard Stern Show on Monday.

Nick shares 11-year-old twin daughter and son Monroe and Moroccan with Mariah Carey, as well as three children with Brittany Bell - son Golden Sagon, five, daughter Powerful Queen, two, and son Rise Messiah, six months.

He also has three children with Abby De La Rosa - twins Zion and Zillion, 18 months, and daughter Beautiful Zeppelin, five months. He also shares son Legendary Love, nine months, with Brie Tiesi, and daughter Onyx Ice, six months, with LaNisha Cole.

Nick also has a four-month-old daughter Halo Marie with Alyssa Scott, who was also mother to their son Zen, who tragically died in December 2021 at five months old from a rare and aggressive brain cancer.

Appearing on The Howard Stern Show, Nick was asked whether he could name all of his massive brood - and while he swore he could list not only their names but their order of birth and their birthdays, he ended up missing Onyx off the list by accident.

He began: "Moroccan and Monroe, which we call Roc and Roe, Golden Powerful and then Zion, Zillion, Zen. And then from there, Legendary Love. Then there’s Rise," before the radio host interjected: "Wrong, wrong! You missed."

Nick protested that he wasn't finished with listing his children, continuing with Powerful Queen, Beautiful Zeppelin, and Halo Marie.

Howard then corrected him: "You left out Onyx Ice Cole," to which Nick replied: "Ah, no! You know, I did. You threw me off because I was going in order!"

Nick had also previously revealed that the names of his children all have meaning to them, telling The Shade Room in March: "Moroccan and Monroe was real cool ‘cause that’s what Mariah and I came up with and, you know, the Moorish Moroccan vibe was always something we talked about. And then Monroe, Mariah loves Marilyn Monroe. And then we call them Roc and Roe, sounds like Rock n’ Roll, so that was always cool."

Speaking of his three kids with Brittany Bell, Nick added: "There was Golden, who really is like the golden child. Kid is a genius. And then, his sister is Powerful, Powerful Queen. So their names kind of go together," adding that the third sibling, Rise Messiah, also has a name that "goes together" with the other two.

He revealed that Abby De La Rosa wanted to give their children names that start with Z seeing as hers starts with an A, and named their twins Zion and Zillion. He added: "We were gonna go with Zeppelin for our daughter, ‘cause it was gonna be all three [Z names], but I was like, 'She’s so beautiful. That’s her name.' It was like, Beautiful Zeppelin."

Addressing how he and Bre Tiesi came up with the name Legendary Love, Nick explained: "Bre, the way we are, we are kind of on the same page. What we doing is legendary. We got legendary loving. Yea, we call him LL."

And for Onyx, he added: "With LaNisha, who is a strong Black woman and loves her chocolate-ness and all that, she had the name Onyx, And was like, 'I’m with it, let’s get it!' And then I threw on the ‘Ice Cole’, because her name was cold."
