Nicole Eggert has shared a powerful video which shows her shaving her head amid her breast cancer battle.

In an interview with People published back in January, the 52-year-old actress, best known for her role in Baywatch, revealed that she was diagnosed with stage 2 cribriform carcinoma breast cancer in December 2023.

The actress had gained 25lbs and had a lot of pain in one of her breasts just a few months prior to her diagnosis and while she originally thought these may just be symptoms of menopause, a self-test saw her stumble across a lump that she had to get checked.

"It really was throbbing and hurting," she told the outlet. "I immediately went to my general practitioner and she told me I had to immediately go get it looked at. But the problem was I just couldn't get an appointment. Everything was booked. So I had to wait until the end of November to get it done."

After undergoing a mammogram and three biopsies, she was finally given the devastating news.

"This journey's been rough for me. This hasn't been a breezy sail through life," she admitted. "I always read inspirational quotes and corny stuff, but it gets me through."

On Thursday, Eggert took to Instagram to post a powerful video shaving her hair off.

The Baywatch alum was sitting on a chair dressed in all black as she raised the electric razor to her head and shaved off the remains of her hair until all the last strands were gone.

Later in the clip, one of her daughters stepped in to help shave off her sides before she sighed and smiled widely at the camera.

Have a look at the full video below:

In the caption, she quoted psychotherapist Madeleine Eames, writing: "Maybe healing involves not so much changing ourselves but allowing ourselves to be who we are."

Fans rallied around Eggert to offer their support during these testing times, with one user writing: "BAD A** WOMAN!!!! Isn’t it freeing?????? You’ve got this. I’m so proud of your honesty, integrity and strength. That’s half the battle."

"You're a Bada** Nicole," another added while a third stated: "Grace. You have the most grace. It’s inspiring and I appreciate you."

In the wake of her diagnosis, the star has been vocal about the importance of regular self-checks.

Speaking to Inside Edition, she explained how she "kicks herself" now for not doing them more often.

"The self-exams, I’m telling you, I kick myself. That’s the one thing I should have been doing," she said to the outlet before explaining how her breast implants proved to be a hindrance to her.

"If I didn’t have them and I had my smaller, natural breasts, I am sure I would have felt it much sooner," before going on to add that the implants were a "huge mistake."

We're sending our love and support to Eggert during this incredibly difficult time and wish her well with her treatment.
