Typically, Valentine's Day is a day that people dedicate to their other halves.
Of course, the day of love has since been appropriated to fit other people's own personal situation. For example, there's Galentine's Day and Palentine's Day for those of us who find ourselves single on February 14.
Others, however, might well be in a relationship but choose not to - for whatever reason - celebrate Valentine's Day.
And while we have no idea how Donald and Melania Trump chose to spend the day, we do know that Mrs. Trump chose not to give her husband a special social media shout-out on the special day.

Instead, the former first lady took to Twitter to write: "On this Valentine's Day, I think of the brave & inspirational children at The Children's Inn and NIH where I visited the past few years. Sending them love & strength, today & every day."
She concluded the post by wishing everyone a Happy Valentine's Day, notably excluding any mention of the former president.
Melania also didn't mention Trump in her Valentine's Day weekend tweet the day before.
Instead, she shared with her 1.6 million followers: "It was wonderful to meet all of the incredible children from all around the world. Wishing everyone a happy #ValentinesDay weekend!"
Needless to say, the absence of the 74-year-old Republican from Melania's Valentine's Day tweets didn't escape the notice of her many eagle-eyed followers.
One took to Twitter to write: "Melania Trump posts a Valentine’s Day message but makes no mention of her husband. Probably because she despises him as much as you do."
Another remarked: "No Valentine's Day tribute to your darling husband?"
A different person suggested: "You might as well wish Hank Siemers a happy Valentine's Day at this point. no mention of your husband, as usual... but I understand, he can't tweet anything to you.... because he got kicked off twitter for inciting violence [sic]."
And a fourth took to the platform to point out: "No love in that relationship, always been obvious."
First Lady Jill Biden, on the other hand, revealed on her Twitter account that she had picked up some Valentine's Day treats for President Biden:
