Prince William reveals daughter Charlotte's hilarious response when she's asked for her age

Princess Charlotte just celebrated her sixth birthday, but according to her father Prince William - she likes to tell people she's a teenager!

The young royal turned six over the weekend and just days after the milestone, the Duke of Cambridge was asked about his daughter's big day.

Per the Daily Mail, Prince William joked: "If you ask her, she says she's 16... Charlotte says, 'I'm six now, I'll do what I want.' They grow up very fast."

He also revealed: "Unfortunately for her, obviously last year there was no birthday party because of lockdown but this year [we had] one other family, so that was it. So it wasn't a party as such but we made it as fun for her as possible."

Prince William, 38, shared the sweet anecdote during his visit to Babcock Vehicle Engineering in which he learned about the significant role the Firm played during the coronavirus pandemic.

On Sunday, May 2 - Charlotte's birthday - a new photograph was released by the official Twitter account for the Royal Family in celebration of  Charlotte's big day.

The sweet snap was shared with the caption: "Wishing Princess Charlotte a very happy sixth birthday today." It also credits Princess Charlotte's mother, the Duchess of Cambridge, as the photographer.

Princess Charlotte, just like her older brother Prince George, bears a striking resemblance to her father in the sweet snap.

According to The Telegraph, the snap was taken in Norfolk over the weekend by Princess Charlotte's mother, the Duchess of Cambridge. The 39-year-old is believed to be an avid amateur photographer and is also a patron of the Royal Photographic Society.

The Duchess of Cambridge typically shares a photo of each of her children to mark their respective birthdays.

There have been a number of Royal birthdays in recent weeks, with the Queen herself celebrating her 95th birthday on April 21. Prince Louis, the youngest child of Kate and Will, turned three on April 23.

Meanwhile, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, the son of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, celebrates his second birthday today, May 6.
