Earlier this month, Reese Witherspoon shocked the world by claiming that she and her daughter Ava don't look alike.
For years, people have been saying that the pair look less like mother and daughter - and more like twins.
But Reese clearly didn't feel the same way, saying that she doesn't "see it that much" during an appearance on NBC's Today with Hoda and Jenna.
"She and I don't see it that much," the Legally Blonde star said when asked whether she and her 23-year-old daughter thought they looked like "twins".
Watch the interview below:Now, Ava's dad (and Reese's ex-husband) Ryan Phillippe has weighed in on the debate.
In an interview with Extra TV, the actor said: "What I get a lot lately is they think Deacon looks like her and Ava looks like me."
Ryan went on to say that the similarity between himself, Reese, and their kids didn't astonish him as much as it does some people. "My response is always, 'Duh… How are you surprised that children look like their parents?' Isn’t that biologically how it's meant to work?"

He and Reese share two children - Ava, 23, and Deacon, 19. He also shares an 11-year-old daughter, Kai, with Pitch Perfect actor Alexis Knapp.
"These kids, they’re lucky enough to have any opportunity they want, which is not something myself or Reese could have said at that age, and we just want them to be happy," Ryan told the outlet.
"Life takes a lot of different twists and turns… I just want them be happy," he added.
Reese and Ryan's son Deacon is following in his parents' theatrical footsteps. As well as appearing in the Netflix comedy-drama Never Have I Ever, he's also pursuing a musical career.
"I know that he had a lot of fun doing ['Never Have I Ever'] and acting is something he still may do at times, but he’ s really largely focused on his musical career and being a musician right now," Ryan explained.
