Police have spoken out about Sophia Leone's death after the adult star tragically died aged 26.
On March 1, the professional adult actress was found "unresponsive" in her New Mexico home "by her family," according to a GoFundMe page set up by Sophia's stepfather, Mike Romero.
In the description, Romero said that the "sudden loss... has left her family devastated and in shock," but as the family grieves the loss of their daughter, they're also "seeking justice."
"On behalf of her mother & family, it is with a heavy heart that I have to share the news of our beloved Sophia’s passing," Romero wrote on the page. "...On top of the difficult process of grieving and seeking justice for Sophia[,] the family is also facing the financial burden that they were not prepared for."
"I am reaching out to all of Sophia's supporters and the community during this incredibly difficult time," the statement continued. "Sophia without question deserves the absolute best memorial and you can help us. Any donation no matter the amount will go straight towards the costs associated with the investigation, funeral [expenses], and any other costs that may arise as the family works through this heartbreak."
The page has raised over $14,000 so far and new donations have been disabled as of right now.

The police have opened an investigation into the matter, which was originally reported to be a "robbery and homicide" as per a Twitter (X) tribute by Adult talent agency 101 Modeling.
However, in an updated statement, the Albuquerque Police Department disputed that claim when contacted by PEOPLE on Wednesday (March 13).
"We are investigating the death as a suspicious death at this point, and not a homicide because the preliminary autopsy did not reveal any trauma and did not determine the cause of death," the department revealed to the outlet.
TMZ also revealed that an insider in the department stated that this was a "suspicious death", also adding: "We do not know at this time if she is a victim of a crime so this is a unique situation."
An official cause of death has not yet been determined.
The Miami-born adult star broke into the industry in 2014 and has starred in over 80 films, her IMDb page states.
Over the years, she's managed to gain a loyal fanbase, with her Instagram account racking up an impressive 310,000 followers who have expressed their devastation at the sudden loss of the performer.
"I hope you knew how much you were loved. This world is so cruel. Thank you for everything," wrote one user while another added: "RIP angel."
Over on Twitter, many also expressed their hurt by the news too.
"...I was going through a rough patch, and Sophia helped me. If I overreacted in my last response, it's because I have so many fond memories of her," wrote fellow adult actress Sarah Pearl. "And waking up to her news shook me on top of everything else I saw about other beautiful actresses who shouldn't be struggling but were... RIP."
