During yesterday's Miami Open, 19-year-old tennis star Nicola Kuhn collapsed two hours into his first-round match with German player Mischa Zverev, bringing the game to a heartstopping halt.
Approaching a short ball, the Austrian-born Spaniard seemed to cramp up, unexpectedly falling onto the court as a result.
This is the moment the rising tennis star collapsed suddenly in the middle of his Miami Open match:The young talent - who turned 19 on the day of the collapse - can be seen laying on the floor for about 15 seconds following the dramatic fall.
Evidently in a great deal of pain, Kuhn lay face down on the ground unable to move. When immediate recovery from the fall seemed unlikely, two individuals (including ATP physio Alejandro Resnicoff) rushed to the 19-year-old's aid.

Seeing how badly hurt his rival was, Zverev brought over some water bottles in a supportive act of sportsmanship.
The unfortunate situation resulted in Kuhn being assisted off the court and abandoning the match in the third set. Visibly upset by the unanticipated outcome, the teenage player can be seen holding back tears.
According to some reports, it is believed that Kuhn's collapse came as a result of the humidity and the 80-degree Miami heat.

Following the unfortunate incident, Kuhn tweeted a lighthearted message to his fans regarding the fall.
"Left it all on court," the athlete wrote. "The birthday didn’t go as I wished but I’m grateful for all the support I received today."
Fellow tennis stars flocked to Twitter sharing messages of solidarity with the up and coming player.
Canadian player, Denis Shapovalov wrote: "Such a brutal sport this is. Hope he is okay."
While fellow Canadian player Felix Auger Aliassime added: "That’s tough to watch. Hope you're well my friend @NicolaKuhn1"
