When it comes to cheating a drugs test, there are many ways you could do it.
But, while most of us would turn to detoxifying products or synthetic urine, the first thing that came to Lamar Odom's mind was to use a "giant" fake penis.
In his new memoir, Darkness to Light, which was obtained exclusively by PEOPLE, the former NBA star revealed that he found himself in a sticky situation in 2004 when he was offered a spot on the U.S. Men's Olympic basketball team.

Knowing he would fail his drugs test and be disqualified from competing at the Olympics in Athens due to his use of cannabis, he got creative and ordered a "giant, rubber, black c***" to help him out.
"The joy of being named to the twelve-man roster quickly turned to anxiety when Olympic officials informed me that I would have to pass a drug test before officially joining the team," he wrote in his memoir. "There was absolutely no way I was going to pass. I’d been smoking weed every day that summer. Panic set in."
He continued: "We started googling 'fake penises' and studied different ways to beat a drug test. After an exhaustive search we ordered a giant, rubber, black c*** to arrive the next day."
The former Dallas Mavericks player then got his drug-free trainer "to urinate into the reservoir of the phallus, which was hidden in the balls" as the drugs tester arrived at his home.

Describing the logistics, the 39-year-old said: "He [his trainer] handed me the rubber penis and left the bathroom as I strapped it on."
A security official then entered the bathroom and looked on as Odom squeezed out his trainer’s urine from the prosthetic penis, with the basketball star writing: "I unzipped my pants and carefully slid the fake penis through the zipper hole. To get the pee to come out of the tip, I had to squeeze the shaft repeatedly."
Although Odom admitted that he "was paranoid it wouldn’t work," he quickly learned he had passed the test after he handed the official the warm cup of his trainer's urine.
"He stuck a thermometer in the cup to gauge the temperature … satisfied that the pee was mine, said 'Welcome to Team USA,'" Odom confessed.
The athlete went on to play on the US National Team and won a bronze medal in the Olympics in 2004. He also received a gold medal in the FIBA World Championship in 2010.
His new book also explores how his drug addiction - he suffered a near-fatal overdose in 2015 - took a negative toll on his relationship with ex-wife Khloé Kardashian.
Khloé Kardashian sure has had a rocky time in her love life - watch her completely ignore cheating ex-boyfriend Tristan Thompson at their daughter's birthday party here:Admitting that he cheated on the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star, he spoke of his sex addiction, stating: "I was shocked and embarrassed. I wanted to take it back, but you can’t. [I] wanted to hide it. But that sick sin was hard for me to hide … I had a problem.

"[I] ran out of porn to watch! That’s how you know when you are going a little overboard... I’m still an addict. I still struggle … [But] I will not go into the darkness. Ever again."
