MMA star inundated with OnlyFans payments after wardrobe malfunction during fight
Mexican flyweight star Lucero Acosta experienced a chaotic night inside the cage during her Professional Fighters League debut at PFL Chicago.
Taking on former LFA veteran Shannon Clark, the 32-year-old fighter known as "La Loba" found herself on the receiving end of a tough loss after an action-packed contest.
Acosta started the bout on strong footing, keeping Clark at bay during the opening exchanges with long and rangy strikes.
However, the momentum shifted when Clark dropped Acosta in the closing stages of the first round. Clark adjusted her game plan dramatically in the third round, shooting for a successful takedown before moving into half guard to gain total control.
From top position, Clark unleashed a relentless barrage of ground-and-pound strikes that left Acosta bloodied. During the ferocious exchange, Acosta pushed Clark out of side control, which caused her bralette to shift out of place and leave part of her chest exposed.
Unaware of the wardrobe malfunction, the bloodied fighter turned to her side to cover up and protect herself from further damage.
Observing that Acosta could no longer defend herself effectively, referee Kevin MacDonald stepped in to wave off the fight.
Viral social media reaction
Video clips and screenshots of the wardrobe incident circulated rapidly across social media platforms following the fight's finish. Mixed martial arts fans tuned in online to discuss the unusual sequence of events.
One fan wrote on X: “That match should have been called way before that too SMH 🤦🏼♂️.”
Another commented: “A wardrobe malfunction during a KO is rough.”
A third observer noted: “Lucero was actually doing a great job in the 1st and 2nd.”
Another user stated: “The real story is how she kept fighting through that when most people would’ve just called it.”
A fifth fan added: “That’s rough as she was knocked out as well.”
Financial boost following defeat
Despite the embarrassing nature of the stoppage and the accidental exposure, Acosta capitalized on the sudden surge of online attention.
The fighter supplements her combat sports income with a popular OnlyFans account and quickly discovered that the viral moment had brought a substantial wave of new subscribers to her profile.
Over the weekend, Acosta took to Instagram to share a sultry photograph alongside a brief message acknowledging the financial upside of the event. She posted: “💰💰💰Extra payment on @onlyfans because we showed our nipples during the @pflmma live. 😅. It’s cute. 🤗😋 Official Sponsor.”
The setback in Chicago moved Acosta's professional record to 6-3. Meanwhile, Canadian competitor Shannon Clark improved her overall record to 9-1 following her third consecutive victory under the PFL banner.
