An NFL player has helped to make a young Texas girl's dream come true after tragedy struck her family.
As reported by Fox News, 11-year-old Audrey Soape lost both her father and grandfather last year, so was at a loss when she found out her church would be hosting a daddy-daughter dance.
However, rather than choosing not to attend the dance, Audrey instead opted to invite her favorite NFL player - Philadelphia Eagles safety, Anthony Harris.
After Audrey's mom, Holly, informed Harris of the situation on social media, the NFL star happily agreed to go to the dance with the student - much to her family's surprise.
Speaking to Fox & Friends on Friday, Holly said: "It happened really fast. He said yes probably about a week before, so it was kind of a whirlwind."
Holly also revealed that Harris covered the costs for anything Audrey wanted: "He made sure she had the dress that she wanted and the shoes that she wanted. She got set up with hair and makeup - just, the whole works. She just felt like a princess all night."
Speaking to host Ainsley Earhart, Audrey revealed that she was nervous to meet her idol, as she didn't know what to say to him. "At first it was kind of awkward because we weren't talking yet," Audrey said. "But then he kind of came up and started talking to me - I think about like, football and how my day was going."
Audrey also revealed that Harris' dancing was "very good".
Speaking about the NFL star's heartwarming act for her daughter, Holly added: "I was so anxious and excited for her because she just had the most terrible year.
"For someone to show up and to teach her that people do show up for you, it's just been beyond a blessing. Just the power of God and how he makes these situations happen has just been unbelievable and remarkable."
Speaking to NBC 10 in Philadelphia about the gesture, Harris said: "[I was] just trying to be a human.
"Trying to take off the helmet, trying to take off the cape of what I do professionally and just show some sympathy for that family and try to show some support there."
Absolutely amazing from Harris! This will be a memory Audrey will cherish forever!
