Australian star Margot Robbie has issued a tearful plea in a bid to raise funds to fight the wildfires that are currently ravaging her country.

The Wolf Of Wallstreet and Once Upon A Time In Hollywood actor added that she had no desire to show "more pictures of the devastation", instead opting to share a series of photos of her younger self growing up in rural Queensland.

Posting a clip of herself to her Instagram account, Robbie stated that, while she wouldn’t "normally do this", the situation in her homeland demands action. Begging her followers to donate anything they can to the cause, Robbie said:

“I’m sure you’re all aware of what is happening in Australia at the moment with the fires… I wanted you to see how beautiful our country is, because it is so beautiful and it’s really hurting right now. It really, really needs you so please, please donate anything you can.”

Revealing that she herself had already been on “so many different websites” to make a donation, Robbie went on to add:

“Whatever you would have spent on your next cup of coffee, even one dollar would help. It’s so needed right now.”

“Please, please if you haven’t already donated, please do and let’s give future generations the childhood I was so lucky to have.”

Robbie is not the only famous face to attempt to raise awareness of Australia’s ongoing disaster. Nicole Kidman and her husband Keith Urban have pledged $500,000 to fighting the blaze, a total matched by popstars Pink and Kylie Minogue.
