Travis Kelce's ex has accused Swifites of sending her "aggressive" death threats after she warned the singer against dating the NFL star.
Maya Benberry, who dated the 33-year-old Kansas City Chiefs football player in 2016, initially told the Daily Mail that she had a stern warning for Kelce's most recent love interest, Taylor Swift.
"Once a cheater always a cheater," the 31-year-old marketing and brand consulting expert told the outlet, allegedly hinting at how their former relationship ended.
"Taylor seems like such a fun girl with a beautiful spirit so I wish her the best of luck but I wouldn’t be a girls' girl if I didn’t advise her to be smart!" she continued. "I’m sure by now she has mastered the ability to see who is really there for her - and who is just using her."
She also added that she hopes Swift "comes out the teacher in this situation and not the student."
Benberry, also said that she could only share advice based on "the man that [she] knew him to be when we dated," before adding: "Only time will tell but like the saying always goes, once a cheater, always a cheater."
It was reported that the pair dated for a few months after winning his E! reality dating show called Catching Kelce. However, the whirlwind romance didn't last too long as the following year, the athlete debuted his new relationship with sports broadcast journalist Kayla Nicole - which clearly left a sour taste in his former lover's mouth.
Page Six reported that at the time the 31-year-old took to Twitter, re-branded now as X, to share a post that pointed fingers at Kelce for his alleged unfaithfulness.
"When you and your ex broke up five months ago but you find out via social media that he’s supposedly been in another relationship for 6..."
The tweet has since been deleted.
While the star himself did not address the rumors, a source spoke to the Daily Mail on behalf of him stating that there was no truth in any of Benberry's claims.
They slammed the comments as "a poor excuse of someone trying to get her 15 min of fame," though the life coach also hit back saying: "If he can speak on his experience, why cant I?"
However things seem to have worsened since she initially spoke out.
According to Inside Edition, Benberry has been subjected to hate ever since she warned Swift about her former lover and has been getting death threats.
"Swifties are aggressive," Benberry said as per an interview with Inside Edition. "Very negative, very hypocritical. It's really crazy to me that someone that I think is positive and really nice has such a negative and angry fanbase."
In the clip she also stated that she doesn't care if the 'Love Story' hitmaker ends up becoming more than just a fling to Kelce, but she did throw the fact that "[she] had him first."
"I'm not jealous or bitter about Taylor," she added. "She's beautiful, she's successful. We're in two different lanes. My issue is more with Travis in the sense of, now you're trying to turn me into... a bitter person, a liar, like I'm delusional, and I'm the furthest thing from that."
Yikes, et's hope the pair manage to bury the hatchet in the near future.
