Vanessa Hudgens has been slammed for her latest Instagram post after calling New York's Sleepy Hollow Cemetery her "happy place".
In the autumnal snaps of herself, the actress poses while wearing a black vest, matching skirt, fishnet tights, long gloves, a face mask, and combat boots.
She originally described the burial ground as her "Happy place", however, later changed the caption after widespread criticism in the comments section.
One Instagram user wrote in response to the post: "TONE DEAF. But what's new."

A second sarcastically wrote: "Yeah because you really hangout [sic] in a cemetery all the time for fun."

A third wrote: "What's wrong with you?"

A fourth added: "I know Halloween is your mood but this is disturbing."

Meanwhile, a fifth implied that the actress was being disrespectful toward those buried in the cemetery and wrote: "You're so offensive."

However, one Instagram user did leap to Hudgens' defence and wrote: "You people are so sensitive. People goes to the cemetery for Halloween all the time, like it’s an actual thing, especially the people who loves Halloween and who are fascinated about the dead and etc. If you don't like I than unfollow her [sic]."

After the backlash, the actress decided to change the caption of the picture to reference Sleepy Hollow's fabled headless horseman, writing: "Searching for that headless horseman" alongside a wink and a black heart emoji.
However, this was not the only set of pictures that the actress posted from the cemetery. In another, she wrote: "What. A beautiful. Place."
To which one Instagram user replied: Nothing like a photoshoot where someone's uncle, father, or son is buried. Bad move hudgens [sic]."

A second similarly wrote: "This is disrespectful. You're prancing around like it's some amusement park. The caption is just why? Clearly [sic] you have never been to a burial. It's not a happy place for anyone."

Hudgens also posted pictures of herself in the same outfit at the Wilkens Fruit & Fir Farm in Yorktown Heights, New York.
She captioned the picture: "Apple pickin season."
