Thai Airways
One cuisine that seems perfectly suited to air travel is Asian. Simple, boldy spiced cookery goes a long way to pleasing a potentially cantankerous aeroplane crowd. Thai Airways deliver some of the best. A typical lunch consists of lemon chicken, fried rice and tiramisu - a marked improvement on stereotypical airbourne fare.

Airlines do not have a monopoly on delicious food. Railways are more than capable of packing their own serious culinary punch, though they are certainly more exclusive. A great example is the Queen Adelaide restaurant on Australia’s Ghan train, who specialise in luxury cross country travel. The restaurant’s menu changes seasonally and features classic dishes cooked by some of Australia’s top chefs.

Considering the amount of time we spend whinging about trains, you’d never guess that Britain has its very own quality train based dining experience. On select GWR services to and from Cornwall, the Pullman Dining Car delivers exceptional British cuisine to diners as they speed along at over 100mph. With lemon sole, duck and Sunday lunch all possibilities, this is one of Britain’s best kept travel secrets.

With a reputation for quality, Singapore Airlines has long been the pinnacle for plane food. While their economy offerings are still exceptional, it is the top end choices that really impress. Lobster thermidor and Japenese Kyo-Kaiseki are just two of the luxurious options that await more exclusive travellers in first class. Better start saving.

Napa Valley Wine Train
Another exceptional culinary offering courtesy of Pullman, the Napa Valley Wine Train experience is as historical as it is delicious. With dedicated dining voyages in 100 year old carriages through America’s most celebrated vineyards, this is one travel experience that’s all about the journey rather than the destination. Award winning menus and a fantastic wine selection make this trip a must for any history loving foodie.

Great travel food doesn’t always necessitate breaking the bank. According to plane food expert (yes, that is a thing) Nikos Loukas, some of the best food found anywhere in the sky comes from Turkish Airlines. With domestic flights delivering a sandwich and Turkish meze, and long haul flights serving freshly prepped ingredients as standard, you can expect to be well catered for on Turkish Airlines.
[[instagramwidget||https://www.instagram.com/p/BLH1dhJgUkw/]]Orient Express
The forerunner in luxury travel and foodie excellence, the Orient Express still offers an exemplary experience for food lovers. The train may not be what it once was and its route may have changed, but the prospect of quality food as you’re whisked across Europe is still an undeniably enticing one. Barring any murders, this experience delivers on every front.

If you’re fortunate to find yourself travelling with one of these businesses, count yourself lucky. You can relax and look forward with anticipation to your next mealtime.lifestyle3 min(s) read
A passenger on a flight has split opinions after he insisted on eating a meaty burger while sitting next to a vegetarian.
I think most of us can agree that plane food isn't exactly the height of fine dining unless you're in first class, and then the meals suddenly look incredible.
But for the majority of us, we'll have to make do with questionable meals or the snacks that we purchased before boarding the plane.
With that being said, most flights will now offer meals that cater to all dietary requirements - including vegetarians... though that won't mean that those around you won't opt for meat.
Speaking of this, a passenger aboard an eight-hour flight recently sparked a mid-air dispute by indulging in a burger while sat next to a veggie.
The airborne fast-food drama unfolded when the hungry passenger, faced with minimal complimentary snacks, opted for a heartier meal during a stopover.
"I checked with the gate agent to see if I can bring food onboard, and she happily reassured me that I could. I went and got a burger, fries, and a drink. When I was allowed to put the tray down, I did and started to eat," they shared on Reddit.
However, not everyone on the plane was delighted by the aroma of the mid-flight feast. The man's enjoyment of his meal hit a snag when a neighboring passenger expressed her disdain for meat and fried foods, claiming that the smell was making her ill.
"I know I’m right when it comes to the airline rules, but the food is pungent in an enclosed area, and she’s still glaring at me," the Redditor said.
Turning to the internet for validation, the man sought public opinion on whether his in-flight dining behavior was inappropriate. To his relief, a majority of Redditors rallied behind him.
One person said: "This is a plane, not this woman's personal living room. I cannot believe how rude some people are on planes - she needs to fly private if she wants it 100% to her demanding standards."
A second added: "Public transportation sucks, but eating on a plane is normal and acceptable so unfortunately it was her thing to deal with. It's not like you can easily wait until you land to eat cold mushy food."
While a third concluded: "Tell her the sooner she stops complaining, the sooner you will finish your food, and the sooner she will not have to smell it anymore."
That being said, I'm a firm believer that some foods shouldn't be consumed on public transport. I'm looking at the people who unwrap a tuna sandwich on trains.
What are your thoughts?

A woman has been left horrified after a man next to her on a flight whipped out a box containing an entire rack of ribs, which does seem like a weird choice for an inflight meal.
Flying can be a stressful endeavor. The airport itself can be a mess of queues, long waits, and staring at a departure board to ensure your flight actually exists.
Once on the plane, the stress usually reduces due to just having to sit until reaching the destination - unless you have a fear of flying, of course.
But then comes the age-old debate of whether airplane food is good or not. It would appear that one man decided that he didn't want to partake and brought an entire meal with him instead.
Taking snacks onto a plane is socially acceptable, even pushing it as far as a sandwich - providing it isn't something smelly like tuna or egg.
But when Lanna Tolland boarded her flight at Glasgow airport, she definitely didn't expect to see an entire restaurant-quality meal unveiled next to her.
It would appear that the hungry man had visited the Italian chain restaurant Frankie & Benny's and came aboard the flight with an entire rack of ribs covered in BBQ sauce, buttered corn on the cob, and a portion of fries.
A meal like that sounds perfectly fine in a restaurant or the comfort of your own home - but in an enclosed space where you can't exactly open a window seems a bit unfair.
Lanna wrote on Twitter: "No chance is the guy next to me eating a full rack of ribs plus sides on this plane."
It would seem that not everybody agreed that what the man did was socially unacceptable, as the image caused a debate amongst viewers.
One person penned: "This is a realistic nightmare," but was quickly met with a response: "You're a baby then. let the man eat."
"I feel like there is a line on what’s acceptable to bring to eat in a plane. Sandwich? Good. Chips? Good. Full plate of BBQ? As much as I love BBQ - over the line," another Twitter user wrote.
"Only way I’m letting this behavior slide is if I’m getting one or two. A rib tax. A pork penance," another viewer penned, with someone else writing: "I once had a dude bust out a full crab dinner next to me on a flight… cracking the legs and everything…"
Speaking of weird unwritten rules on a plane, a flight attendant took to TikTok to reveal to passengers why they shouldn't wear shorts on a flight.
Offering other advice such as instructing people not to touch the toilet flush with their bare hands, and not resting their head against the window because who knows who has been in that seat beforehand.
In regards to the shorts, he said: "Don't - or try not to - wear shorts when you're on an airplane. It's the same thing as the window; you never know how clean it's going to be. So, if you have pants, you're going to have less germs."
Everyone will need another holiday after all this aircraft drama.

Oh, lunch. Isn't it so... boring?
Wedged awkwardly between breakfast and dinner in our tasty trifecta of daily meals, this middle child of nourishment is in serious need of a facelift if we are ever to take it seriously as breakfast, or eat it as heartily as dinner. I don't know about you, but lunch is the meal I put the least amount of thought into, resorting to grocery store lunches most days.
Well, if you're on the lookout for a way to make your lunches more entertaining, then do I have the Instagram trend for you! Jenga tower lunches are here, and lunch will never be the same again. Not convinced? A little skeptical about the idea of literally playing with your food? Well, let's see how this trend... stacks up.
For more, let's go to the wonderful world of Instagram, where all good food trends make their name, and see what kind of foods have been Jenga'd. First up, we've got polenta fries, arranged in typical Jenga fashion. I can understand the logic of that: they're long, easy to pick up, and sturdy enough for some serious Jenga play. I approve.
[[instagramwidget||https://www.instagram.com/p/BTFl-QfD5I5/?utm_source=ig_embed]]
Sweet potato, on the other hand, seems like a very left-field option for a game of Jenga. Even if we're talking foodstuffs. Too sturdy, I feel; not enough risk of the entire tower falling down. Though, with a sprinkling of chili on there, it's probably going to be a mighty delicious lunch.
[[instagramwidget||https://www.instagram.com/p/BSn9sKeDGCT/?utm_source=ig_embed]]
In my opinion, though, potato chips are going too far the other way. Even if you're supremely lucky and you get enough unbroken ones of similar shape, the structural integrity of the fair potato chip means you're playing a dangerous game of Jenga. Think of it as food Jenga on hardcore mode.
[[instagramwidget||https://www.instagram.com/p/BduikBelhHK/?utm_source=ig_embed]]
I hadn't really thought about it this way - but I guess it could also work with dinner plates. Especially the long, rectangular kind. Though it's probably best to keep this particular game of Jenga at home - this is the kind of thing that'll get you kicked out of a restaurant pretty sharpish.
[[instagramwidget||https://www.instagram.com/p/BcSsrU0HORA/?utm_source=ig_embed]]
Okay, no. This is too far. How would this even work? Granted, this stack of Japanese brick toast - a dessert which you really should try - covered in strawberries looks absolutely to die for, but only if you're eating it. It has precisely zero potential as a possible application of food Jenga. Get it out of my face. Well... until dessert time comes along.

I really don't know what to make of this, guys, but I guess I can see the appeal in food Jenga. If you're looking for an awesome way to take your Instagram page to the next level and are okay spending an insane amount of time arranging food for the perfect picture without eating all of it, then more grease to your elbow.
Apart from that, I think it would be a really entertaining way to spend your lunch. Do you have a meal planned with a child soon? Or a date? Either way, food Jenga would be a great way to have fun, so please take plenty of pictures. Whichever way you decide to go with it, however, I think lunch has been well and truly revolutionized.
