In today's news on Kardashian Watch, clan leader Kim (come on, we all know it) has got the internet in a tizzy over some recent uploads to Instagram/Snapchat/Twitter/everywhere. The reality TV star uploaded some snaps yesterday posing in an white G-string and fur coat in what looks to be a dingy hotel room. [[instagramwidget||https://www.instagram.com/p/BejDGW4FRRS/?taken-by=kimkardashian]] The 37-year-old, who recently welcomed her third child via surrogate, switched up her hairdo and is now being accused of cultural appropriation. In one of the pics, Kim captioned it "Bo West", referring to the model and actress Bo Derek who sported the same hairstyle in the 1979 film, 10. Well, the latter worked, and fellow pot-stirrer and celeb gossip king Perez Hilton uploaded a screenshot of one of the Snaps to his Instagram, asking his fans if they thought it was "offensive" too. But then... things escalated further when one of Kim's friends decided to get in on the debate, and things turned salty. None other than Lindsay Lohan chose to leave a comment saying "I am confused." Perez obviously couldn't contain his giddy glee at the Burn Book-esque feud developing between the two superstars and shard a pic of their comments. The Mean Girls actress told the Daily Mail that her new accent developed after a year of travelling and through her quest to learn multiple new languages. "It’s a mixture of most of the languages I can understand or am trying to learn," she said. "I’ve been learning different languages since I was a child. I’m fluent in English and French can understand Russian and am learning Turkish, Italian and Arabic." Alrighty then. Anyway, neither Lindsay nor Kim have said anything more about the matter, the internet is giving Kim a schooling about the origins of the hairstyle, and the next time she uploads more thirst-trap pics with Fulani braids, we hope she gets it right.

Another day, another Kardashian scandal, eh? By this point, it seems that the American reality TV family are practically professionals in controversy - and they play the role perfectly, appearing once or twice (or three, or four times...) a week to vex us all.

So, what outage has America's number one most watched family spurred this time? Unsurprisingly, Kim Kardashian is back in the firing line after wearing her hair in braids at the 2018 MTV Movie and TV Awards on Saturday.

Walking the red carpet with her mother, Kris Jenner, the 37-year-old caused a stir and was blasted by people on social media who accused her of cultural appropriation.

Underneath a video she uploaded to Twitter to show her new hair off were numerous angry comments that called her out for adopting the elements of a culture that isn't hers.

"it’s not cute to appropriate my culture. your privilege is really showing," wrote Twitter user @deactivate_me.

Fellow Twitter user @callme_kenzee joined her in critiquing the reality TV star's decision to wear her hair in braids, writing: "Because like we KEEP SAYING black girls can’t wear this hairstyle without being stereotyped or humiliated for it. It’s seen as ghetto and unprofessional on us  but since Kim is trying to rock it , its 'fashion'".

Bizarrely, some people on social media even accused her of trying to steal the spotlight from Jay-Z and Beyoncé, who dropped a surprise new album named Everything Is Love at the weekend.

It's certainly not the first time that the reality TV star has caused a stir with her braided hair. The controversy on Saturday served as a painful reminder for many of the time that she debuted the hairstyle on her Snapchat story back in January.

Describing her braided hairstyle as "Bo Derek braids", the star was heavily criticised by users online for crediting her cornrows to a white woman when they originally came from Africa.

“Denying that colour exists is denying the history of events that led to where we are today,” one person wrote on Twitter. “Race is an issue. Acknowledge it, and be equitable. Whites shouldn’t enable systems of oppression simply because the topic of race makes them uncomfortable."

However, infamously, Kim was unconcerned by the outrage, later posting a photo of herself as Bo West, reclining on a hotel bed and holding a phone to her ear. The caption read: “Hi, can I get zero f*cks please, thanks".

She isn't alone in her nonchalant attitude to accusations of cultural appropriation. After wearing the braids to the 2018 MTV Movie and TV Awards, she was defended by fans online, who insisted that Kim should be able to wear any hairstyle she liked.

"Idc about a thread honestly," wrote Instagram user @Chromatics1313. "Let the woman wear what she wants. End of story. It's a hair style. Let's focus more on black on black crime in our neighborhoods"

So, do you approve of Kim's braids? You probably won't be shocked to hear that it's not the first time that star caused controversy this week. She was in trouble yet again a few days again when she straightened her daughter's hair for her fifth birthday...

Kim Kardashian is no stranger to controversy; whether she's breaking the internet in an ensemble that leaves very little to the imagination (and good on her), or punching her sister Kourtney in the family's eponymous reality television show, it will always make the headlines. Sometimes, however, it's not for the best reasons. Case in point: the 39-year-old has once again been accused of cultural appropriation.

Kim was seen sporting a tightly braided hairstyle at Kanye West's Paris Fashion Week show yesterday. The mother of four donned a Yeezy jacket over a beige plunge crop top, baggy high-waisted grey trousers and nude heels. But she was quickly slammed after posting photos of the look to Twitter, with users accusing her of appropriating black culture.

"Just because your daughter is mixed and your husband is black doesn’t mean you are," wrote one Twitter user, while another corroborated "Bruh why do you keep doing this? You think she’d learn. Put your hair up in a high pony and go to the fashion show like everyone else."

Kim has defended herself in the past against accusations of cultural appropriation.

"I actually did that look because North said she wanted braids and asked if I would do them with her," she told Bustle regarding the fulani braids controversy.

The Kardashian-Jenner clan are no strangers to accusations of cultural appropriation, to put it mildly.

Kim Kardashian, in particular, has been repeatedly slammed on social media for her decision to wear cornrows - a hairstyle worn by black people that was used to rebel against their slave masters and even map out routes to freedom.

In fact, things have got so bad for the family in the cultural appropriation department that Kim has even been accused of blackface.

But it's not just black culture that they have been accused of appropriating, and earlier this year, Kim was slammed for her new shapewear line, which she dubbed "Kimono" prompting offense among the Japanese community.

She was subsequently forced to rename the line "Skims" after the major of Kyoto personally asked her to take the feelings of the Japanese people into consideration.

Now, it's Kendall's turn to be in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons after she recently debuted her own set of cornrows. This happened when she shared a snap of herself on vacation to Instagram.

A day later, she was photographed in LA, knowing fine well that there would be paparazzi aplenty around, and clearly unfazed by the criticism her sisters have faced for cultural appropriation in the past, still wore her hair in cornrows.

Social media was flooded with comments from people explaining why the hairstyle was so offensive, but given the criticism that her older sisters have faced in the past, this is something Kendall is likely more than aware of.

"I'm EXHAUSTED of white people constantly appropriating black culture and wearing hairstyles we are always ridiculed/chastised for having," wrote one black woman on Twitter.

The same woman then explained that cornrows help to protect afro hair, and therefore aren't necessary for white people to wear, especially when they are doing so to "look cool".

Another black woman went as far as to accuse Kendall of "exploiting and stealing from black women."

This isn't the first time that Kendall has been insensitive to racial issues. Back in 2017, she incited international outrage when she appeared in a Pepsi advert that centered around her stopping the advancement of armed police with a can of the drink.

Critics saw this as a trivialization of police brutality in the US, which is disproportionately directed towards ethnic minority groups.

Then things got even worse then Kendall wore what was largely viewed as an afro wig on the cover of Vogue:

Clearly, it's about time that the Kardashian-Jenner clan invested in a cultural appropriation check officer for the sake of damage control.

Kylie Jenner has been accused of cultural appropriation after posting a photograph of her sporting braided hair.

Social media users quickly took to the comments to call out the beauty mogul over the never-before-seen picture, which was reportedly shot at the beginning of the year.

The snap, which Kylie shared on her Instagram Stories, saw her modelling bleach blonde hair with twist braids - a style which is often associated with black culture.

The photo was also shared on the Instagram account of the Morelli brothers, the photographers who shot Kylie.

"The cultural appropriation jumped out," criticised one social media user, while another corroborated "She wants to be a black woman so bad, until it's time to be a black woman."

"Why do y'all keep thinkin s*** like this is a good idea in the year 2020?" wrote a third.

And another added, "What's w/ the KarJenners & fetishizing black women?!"

"Happy New Year People!" the Morelli brothers captioned the photo. They have since claimed that the American singer, Gwen Stefani, was the original inspiration behind the snap.

Kylie has not yet responded to the backlash, and has not removed the post from her Stories.

The mother-of-one is not the only member of the Kardashian clan to be lambasted with accusations of cultural appropriation. Her older sister, Kim, has repeatedly come under fire for wearing fulani braids, amongst other things.

Speaking to Bustle about the braids controversy last year, Kim said "I actually did that look because North said she wanted braids and asked if I would do them with her."
