Regret. Ah, regret. The great maker of people and teachers of lessons worth heeding. It is said that it helps us to move on and achieve what we need to in life with the stark reminder of how a wandering path or action can affect our own lives as much as others. That's the idea anyway.
However, when it comes to the decisions that affect us physically, such as when I had a mohawk for five years or tinting the ends of your hair fluorescent green right before the strict religious wedding or perhaps turning up to a job interview wearing nothing but crotchless chaps, being aware is key.
Again, and another "however", some people make decisions and remain completely unaware of the ramifications of such decisions. Enter the most common one of these unaware decisions: tattoos.
[post_page_title]#1 'Close, But Not Close Enough' [/post_page_title]
"Everyone, we've been walking around this rainforest for hours! Steve! Didn't you say Sarah has that on-board compass?'
Sarah:
No. Shredded. Wheat. Ever?
[post_page_title]#2 'This Guy Got A Sunglasses Tattoo On His Face' [/post_page_title]
Now, like many, I often lose my sunnies. As I'm writing this, I still have a small portion of my brain in a constant state of wonder onto their exact whereabouts.
However, then I found this life hack. Problem? Solved? No? But - Ok.
[post_page_title]#3 'I Don't Even Have The Words To Explain This' [/post_page_title]
I was born in 1991 (I know poor me, right?) So it's quite easy to say that The Simpsons was a huge part of my life and with it apparently predicting most of the most important international developments these past few years, maybe this next one should be our iconographical savior.
Why would you need the words, this is perfect is it not?
[post_page_title]#4 'I'm Speechless' [/post_page_title]
Famous iconography or famous faces/characters make tattoo artists a huge amount of revenue each year. It's one-way to immortalize the people who have influenced the world or even your world, but sometimes, sometimes it can go a little wrong.
Marilyn Monroe, HALLOWEEN EDITION.
[post_page_title]#5 'Oh My God' [/post_page_title]
Fun fact, sort of, my mother is utterly terrified of snakes. It's a common phobia. Another fun fact, she also hates my 18-odd tattoos.
She would scream in terror is she saw this approaching her or in the corner of her eye. I have to say though, this is excellent and must have taken many skilled hours.
[post_page_title]#6 'Roar' [/post_page_title]
Tigers, beautiful creatures that are apart of many an ancient and contemporary culture. They are also endangered and often find their way inked on the skin of those unlove with the magnificent big cats. M-A-G-N-I-F-C-E-N-T.
I lOvE tIgErs. Is it just me or does this rendition (if you can call it that) look like a tiger that was caught in Kronenberg timeline from Rick and Morty?
[post_page_title]#7 'El Señor Nippleriño' [/post_page_title]
As I compile this list, it is readily obvious and unfortunate that I am restricted to a modest 30 images. I have over a hundred to choose from and yet sometimes, I feel stopping way short of the magic thirty would be fine. Just fine.
I won't lie, this possibly the best "ridiculously bad" tattoo I have ever seen.
[post_page_title]#8 'For Real, Man?' [/post_page_title]
"I like sports and I don't care who knows" once sung The Lonely Island.
Many people aren't happy with their bodies and this man although a minor case has owned such doubt on his physical appearance. That sir is a three-pointer.
[post_page_title]#9 'Today I Learned That My Friend's Chinese Tattoo Literally Means "Turkey Sandwich"' [/post_page_title]
Western people adorning their skin with permanent east-Asian iconography is nothing new and in our lives, many will have seen countless Chinese symbols inked-in the skin of many globetrotters or wannabes. In short, it's often somewhat of a running joke.
I actually saw the image for this way before any of the text associated with it and somehow I just knew it would be something like that.
[post_page_title]#10 'This Guy's Haircut' [/post_page_title]
I really have no idea why this one is even included in a collection of "ridiculously bad" tattoos.
Now, initially, I can imagine this being a fright when this man sat down or perhaps if you were asleep and woke to see this maniacal visage staring back at you. It may be a little scary but bad? I disagree, it has earned its place on this list for being simply brilliant. Hat's off the barber also!
[post_page_title]#11 'Nice Tattoo, Dave' [/post_page_title]
We all know a Dave, a Dave that through his ridiculousness is just a treat. In this modern world where inhibitions are thrown far away and people really don't care too much about their outward appearance, tattoos exist.
Why not, eh?
[post_page_title]#12 'Some Guy Tried To Copy My Tattoo Artist's Work - Tattooed A Nipple On His Arm' [/post_page_title]
Christopher Lee (RIP) once played the James Bond villain Francisco Scaramanga in 'The Man With The Golden Gun'. Despite his deadly golden tool, the man had, for some likely innate reason, a superfluous third nipple.
There are so many things wrong with this image. So, many, many things.
[post_page_title]#13 'Eminem Or M&M?' [/post_page_title]
Sometimes the word "bad" is often used in pseudo-sense and actually referring to the absolute genius of whatever item in question. Are you ready for this one?
I really, really hope the CEO of Mars and Slim Shady himself have seen this. Utter, utter excellent-badness here.
[post_page_title]#14 'Back Of The Head Tattoo' [/post_page_title]
And we're back, for today's episode of - heads up, it's tat-time!
To be completely honest, yes, this would startle anyone but to further my honesty, the detail on this one is insanely good. There's a lot to be said for monkeying around in the modern age.
[post_page_title]#15 'Incredible Angelina's Jolie Portrait' [/post_page_title]
As a tattooed person, I'm not knocking anyone for wanting anything on their skin, it's a personal choice at the end of the day but actual thought is often required prior to the session, or at least it should be.
We all have idols but bloody hell this is a bad rendition. Marilyn Monroe isn't the only option for an All Hallows Eve tattoo it seems! I wouldn't want to follow this Lara into the catacombs.
[post_page_title]#16 'A Facebook Friend Wanted A Very Specific Tattoo, I Think The Artist Really Nailed It' [/post_page_title]
Variations of this all black and sometimes black and grey tattoo design are quite common these days It's a beautiful design and even if it is over-done, it's still an impressive piece of work that many artists have perfected. Many, not all.
"Nailed it". More like used a nail.
[post_page_title]#17 'So My Buddy's Step Sister Got A Tattoo Of Her Mother' [/post_page_title]
Honestly, the image-pool I am choosing from is timeless and if I find anymore as shocking as this I may have to change the focus and title of this list entirely.
"30 Tattoos that may not anything to do with Halloween but almost certainly should" next week's article!
[post_page_title]#18 'So My Buddy's Step Sister Got A Tattoo Of Her Mother' [/post_page_title]
Many of us nearing our 30s (sighhhhhh) will have been and may still be big fans of the Pokémon series and franchise. Reddit user SaggyBeaver is definitely one of these people and one intoxicated night decided to take the quest to catch them all, one step further.
Pika-Pika-Pika - GURN.
[post_page_title]#19 'My Uncle's New Tattoo. Christmas Will Be Awkward This Year' [/post_page_title]
As we age, many of us will worry if we will have the (not-so) fabled mid-life crisis and is so, how will it manifest itself?
I feel it is safe to say here that in this case, excusing the hair cut, this main focal point of this mid-life mishap is best seen from a bird's-eye view.
[post_page_title]#20 'Not Sure If It's Genius Or Just Horrible' [/post_page_title]
Now, one of the most minor, but still annoying things about being a biological male is sporadic body hair. Sometimes a tuft here and there grows a little out of control and something MUST be done. Tattoos to the rescue, again!
Genius? Horrible? Both? Hori-genius? Geni-orrible? I think it's funny, whatever.
[post_page_title]#21 'Found This Gem Browsing Facebook ' [/post_page_title]
SERIOUSLY IN ALL SERIOUSNESS, I MAY NEED TO CHANGE THE NAME OF THIS LIST.
The fact that IntheDarkoftheNight has that very username makes this all the more deserving of A) the list name change and B) standing as the absolute benchmark for entry to this collection.
[post_page_title]#22 'Impressive Dot Work, But Why?' [/post_page_title]
To be completely fair, from the perspective of the artist this must have been a considerable task and from the eyes of the beholder, it's very impressive.
But why indeed? What I would be interesting to see, if what it would look like if the human-canvas in question here actually achieved hench-status and if it would all align. Come back next week for the next episode of body transformations.
[post_page_title]#23 'Please Kill Me ' [/post_page_title]
You know what I'm going to say.
Family tattoos as we have seen are common, but this is something else horrifyingly.
[post_page_title]#24 'Tiger Anatomy Continues To Baffle Artists, Survey Says' [/post_page_title]
Here we are again! It Tiger time and they're greeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-
-awful. They are awful. A later survey promoted the discover that dinosaurs evolved not into birds, but tigers.
[post_page_title]#25 'Instagram Find. I Never Laughed So Hard At A Tattoo' [/post_page_title]
Religious iconography is another common one in the ink world. In many cases, people can't think of another a better way to honor their savior, in theory, that is.
Now, I'm not a religious person, but I'm relatively sure this would qualify as blasphemy.
[post_page_title]#26 'Erm... A Lion?' [/post_page_title]
After the proof that dinosaurs evolved into tigers, other studies were soon formed via evidence found underneath rocks and through designs found on the skins of humanity.
Once the big cats had evolved from dinosaurs, it was found that early man, specifically upright apes, could be traced back through their genealogy to the fearsome tigers and lions of ancient times. We will report the news as it happens.
[post_page_title]#27 'If Only Their Familey Had Warned Them' [/post_page_title]
Rules and regulations. In this ever-expanding society, new rules are birthed every second. Some you need to follow, others aren't relevant at all but some, some carry ancient wisdom.
Remember 'C with an arrow pointing od' upwards and 'Familey' are the key to life. Or are they? 'Familey' didn't warn this person against this tattoo, so maybe, just maybe, they don't know best. I'll ask my FAMILY and see.
[post_page_title]#28 '"It's Is My Life" - Jon Bovi' [/post_page_title]
Now, I had to include this one. It was likely 50% of the reason you're here two from the end anyway, let's be honest.
Also, I know, I know, you've likely seen this EVERYWHERE on the interwebs these past few years but what may have failed to hit you, is that this could actually a person adoration of tribute band. No? Yeah ok, it is just a f*** up.
[post_page_title]#29 'Maximum Facepalm' - Jon Bovi' [/post_page_title]
"Maximum Facepalm" really, really is the best title for this but I feel I have the best caption. So do YOURSELF a favor and scroll down.
I want to spin you Hula-wan-Kenobi, you're my only hoop. Thank you, my new hope is to be here all week.
[post_page_title]#30 'I've Got A Hunch That He Isn't, "Wrongfully Convicted." Call Me Crazy, But' - Jon Bovi' [/post_page_title]
Now this list isn't in any particular order but here we are. The end, the end of all things, the end of these crimes against tattooing, some true convictions, some not and some, some not for the crimes initially thought.
The judge decided that the crime the accused had initially been brought in for was a farce and he was acquitted and then re-arrested for the travesty he now has for eyebrows.
There we have it. Now, if you excuse me, I'm going to spend the next 100 or so years making sure that my tattoo design does not end up on a future list such as this.
