Obviously, parenting is no easy ride. Though I have no children of my own, it's an endeavor that clearly takes a certain caliber of person. However, much akin to most of the daily activities and responsibilities that we as people of this spinning ball of matter trundle along with, there is a certain variable that we must consider. Simply that some are better suited to what it is that they are doing more so than others and it's hard to argue against such a statement.

This can almost certainly be applied to parenting - as the following collection of images will show you. Doubtless, we may have been on the end of our own parents' misguided power trips, or simply witnessed them via others, but what you're about to scroll through sheds light on some of the worst that contemporary parenting has to offer.

#1 'It’s Time To D D D D D D D D Duel'

Being "down with the kids" is something many parents, as subject to varying levels of contemporary understanding of youth culture, may or may not be particularly adept at when it comes to identifying what their kids are up to.

Credit: 1539

If I was to find an example of the purest form within this contect this would be it. This mother was put in her place in the best fashion by the older brother of her son's friend, "yugigo".

#2 'Nothing Good Will Happen To Me Bcz I Told My Mom I Could No Longer Help Her After Moving On My Own At 19 Because She Got Evicted Twice In The Span Of 4 Months And Put A Power Bill In My Name Without Me Knowing Which I Now Owe 700 To The Power Company'

Now, this one is certainly a mouthful and considering we are so early in this compilation of parental mishaps, speaks completely and shockingly for itself.

Credit: 2462

If I'm going to be honest, this one is actually a little sad and this response is utterly and correctly warranted. This one makes "going too far" look like child's play.

#3 'Sometimes Insane Is Just A Birth Defect!'

"Don't Do Drugs Kids!" a popular slogan often given to children of school age across this vast spinning sphere of stupid. It's a true statement, but in truth, it usually pertains to narcotics or medication with a specific purpose to someone's needs that are abused. Or does it go further...

Credit: 3279

"Wellness is a state of mind kids!" - This parent. Need I say more?

#4 'Mom Of The Year Over Here...'

Again, I have no children of my own but even to me, supporting the growth and success of your child is seemingly paramount. Right?

Credit: 3844

Well, it's certainly not a priority here is it now? Too far!

#5 'My Mom Is Putting Up Cameras In My Room Now'

Most of us at some time or another will have labeled our parental units as "controlling". Getting up to all-sorts as a child is part of our development and a great deal of the time, our parents very much aren't too "down" with what we get up to.

Credit: 4509

This was the case here, but clearly this parent very much was "down" with one thing - Motion capture technology! 1984, here we come! On a serious note,  this is inappropriate on so many levels.

#6 'Ah Sweet Unconditional Love'

Is parenting a tough job? Yes. By job do I mean it within the parameters of the English language? Yes. Is it actually a job you complete and then move on apathetically? No. Well, I didn't initially think so...

Credit: 5261

Is the job almost done, eh? The end in sight? The child of this equation probably can't wait to get rid of this line manager. What makes this even worse, is that this parental supervisor or whatever hasn't even considered health and safety! Please see your employee manual.

#7 'My Father Tracking Me While I’m On A Date'

Once again we fund ourselves in the grip of the post-Orwellian world that was only supposed to be a story. We've all heard of parental concern of their offspring's dating-habits and that's fair enough but, given the aforementioned few words above, it's all the worse now!

Credit: 6185

Once again, need I say too much more? Control, its all about control and as technology advances, the noose around private behavior only tightens!

#8 'Mom Makes Son Show Her All Of His Social Media Accounts'

Suspicion of your kids? Is it warranted? At least sometimes it may well be, but in an age where social media is lord of all the most people under a certain age are immersed in it, the suspicions of those a little older in the family unit have only heightened.

Credit: 6992

I have to say, I am all on the side of the Zetanoid here, privacy should be respected, and this is a classic case of going beyond wrapping your child in cotton wool and a pure invasion of personal development.

#9 'I Don't Even Know What To Say'

You know what isn't the least amount cool? Controlling parents, but you knew that already didn't you? Feast your eyes below on one of the worst on this list...

Credit: 7708

You what else isn't cooler than cool or even anywhere near below boiling hot? Body shaming and superiority complexes. I for one am glad that at least the son in this little example isn't as incredulous as his parents are to how not to treat people!

#10 'Shooting A Schools Computer Because Your Daughter Is Talking To Boys...'

Now, I did laugh at this one, until I realized that shooty-bang-boom-sticks can also be used for far worse things...

Credit: 8485

I'm surprised the poor Mac managed to hold it together as well as it has and still hinged too! Unlike the shooter of the situation. To quote a great fictional character that I for the life of mt remember the name of - "Hmmm, you have boom-boom-sticks... bye bye".

#11 'Mom Just Asked Me For 600$ When I Work A Minimum Wage Job Then Tells Me To Stop Spending?'

Parents asking for upkeep money or a "rent" of sorts when you begin the arduous task of earning your own money isn't that uncommon. Not at all in fact but within the theme of this list, I give you its premise and then a side order of...

Credit: 9399

... utter hypocrisy and pathetic power moves. This may not be as downright disgusting as some of the previous examples, but it will like hit quite close to home for a lot of you!

#12 'What The Hell?'

You may not see this one for a few seconds, so you may wish to adjust your ocular sensors for a sharper image.

Credit: 10020

We're back in shame carriage of the parental train of "what the f-" that is this list. This parent needs a serious reprimand. That, and I'm fairly sure, shaving someone's head in any way that is unwanted is a human rights abuse.

#13 'I Hate It When Doctors Act Like They Have A Medical Degree'

Now then, think back, back to a time where you knew you were right and yet you heard the words, "We are your parents and we know best" or "I am your mother, I know what is best for you" blah blah power move blah blah. Yeah? Recalled it all and shivered uncomfortably at the memory? Good. Well, not good but you know what I mean.

Credit: 10973

And so, I give you a prime example of such! in all its unfathomably ridiculously ridiculous glory. This mom knows all - do not mess with her.

#14 'My Parents Force Me To Update Everything I Do To Them And Verbally Abuse Me If I Don't. They Wonder Where The Depression Came From'

We have another sensitive one here where technology abuse is again at its invasive finest.

Credit: 11654

I heart aches for this child I have to say. This parental unit has utterly lost sight of how to treat their child. Horrid.

#15 'She's Old Enough To Get Married But Not Old Enough To Be Trusted Around Another Man's Penis In This House'

Ah, here we are, back to the cover photo that may well have drawn you here. Well, half of it. Half being the proportion of someone that may well remain after a close-proximity shotgun blast.

Credit: 12417

Now I've heard of shotgun-weddings but shotgun-sleep arrangements designed to keep people FROM forming a union is something else entirely.

#16 'My Mother, After She Kicked Me Out When She Found Letters My Girlfriend Wrote For Me (We're Both Girls)'

On today's episode of 'parental power moves and general abhorrent behavior towards those you are supposed to nurture and teach' *deep breath*, we have this something both horrible but also very amusing but for a little typo. And yes, I am going to speak to the production team about shortening the name.

Credit: 13282

Homophobic? Check. Rude? Hell yeah! Unsupportive? Absolutely. Having a secret army of homophobic cups? YEP. This mother unit is very much so far in the wrong, she will likely never regain the respect of this poor child unit.

#17 'The Children Deserved Better Than Her Anyways'

Are you ready to be completely devoid of the ability to formulate and articulate a cohesive sentence? Yeah, you sure?

Credit: 14014

Same.

#18 'Saw This On Twitter'

"Saw This On Twitter" - I love the title of this one. The internet in all its wonderous uses never ceases to provide the most unexpected and dumfounding-dumfoundery (sic) imaginable. This one admittedly is a little subjective to context, but it's bad enough.

Credit: 14613

Parental privilege is also a wonderous thing, usually for the negative though if you're under the boot of such.

#19 'Already Dislikes Her Baby Before It’s Born...'

Have you ever heard, read, seem, witnessed behavior that would maybe suggest that some people really don't have the mindset to have kids. Have you then seen examples of irrational belief or rather an obsessional subscription to something that should be taken under advisement? No, well consider this your crash course.

Credit: 15418

Now you're an expert. This soon-to-be mom-of-three may need your valuable advice. On another note, that is BEST user name I have ever seen.

#20 'Poor Poor Kid'

There is so much wrong with this example of bad parenting that I am speechless.

Credit: 15979

PaReNtS KnOw BeSt. What. Poor, POOR kid indeed.

#21 'My Financé's Son Used Some Of My Daughter's Nail Polish And He Posted It To Twitter'

This falls under grand-parenting, but it has its place in this list all the same. Living in the now, young people are able to explore far more of who they are outside of societal norms and their archaic grip. There are, but not in this case, apparently.

Credit: 16690

This g-unit is not pleased and her colorful language is indicative of a prejudice indeed. Be who you want to be kids and push those boundaries!

#22 'My Mom Tried Calling Me Multiple Times In Less Than A One Minute And Then Threatened To Not Help Me Fix My AC. (What’s Even Funnier Is That They Live With Me So They Wouldn’t Have Ac Either)'

Now, usually, when you're young and living in your parents' abode, you'd assume that they would take care of the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the house and at the very least, know a little more about the four walls.

Credit: 17579

Now, I can understand why Ally-2016 might be asked to help out but in this instance, it could have waited, until he had emptied his food-bin anyway. Also, yes that is funny. Technology and morainic overlords are not a good mix!

#23 'All Because I Wouldn't Pay Rent In Advance Because She Spent Her Pay On Endone Like She Asks For Every Week Because Of Drugs'

Once again, we are back, again, unsurprisingly for another parentally themed episode of "What?!"

Credit: 18348

Next time I do one of these lists, I'm just going to film myself reacting as I go. Believe some of my facial expressions and audible reactions are something else entirely. What an 'effing terrible parent!

#24 'My Mum Is Abusing Our Brand New Security System'

Security systems I can understand, that is if they are in the interest of PROTECTING, EXTERNAL and INVASIVE threats.

Credit: 19055

Dishes are the modern house conundrum, easily so. However, what this silly parent is actually achieving here is a 'no-tech' day that will actually include the very security system being abused in the abusive behavior towards this child. Brilliant.

#25 'Mother Impersonated Me To Bofa To Remove $1500 From My Account Of My Awarded Scholarship Money As Punishment For Her Ex-Husband Not Paying For Her Vacation'

Stealing money from the wallets, purses and whatever your parents store money is a common one for kids. It's something that needs to be nipped in the bud for sure, but apparently not in everyone.

Credit: 19974

It clearly never was in this parent. Don't steal from those who depend on you and blame your poor life choices on them.

#26 'My Dad Is Sending Me To Boot Camp This Month Because I Didn't Get My Hair Cut The Way He Wanted But He Didn't Tell He How He Wanted It. I Was Sobbing In The Back Off My Work When He Sent Me These Messages'

We're back on power-moves for number twenty-six on this list of "What?!"

Credit: 20693

"Out Of Sight, Out Of Mind" is the lesson we and Tohken_Lordy can take from this. Father dad-man, in this case, might have a few issues of his own that boot camp may sort.

#27 'One Of Many Times My Narcissistic Mother When She Took Her Frustrations Out On Me'

Narcissism is the manifestation of deep-rooted insecurity about one's self repurposed into arrogance, something this mother is more than adept at.

Credit: 21436

In the end, it must be quite refreshing to know that in this family overly-manipulated is the moral and behavioral paragon and bench-mark opposed to this skid-mark of a mother.

#28 'So I Forgot To Do One Thing While I Was Rushed To Get Out The Door, They Are Apparently Charging Me Money? Also, the Second Charge Is Literally Made Up. So She’s Piling On Debt Charges For Things I’m Not Doing Now, And If I Don’t Pay Her I’m Screwed. Feels Like 1700’s British Debt'

Here we have an example of how not to teach your children responsibilities and consequences.

Credit: 22315

That, and another example of how insular lives become so boring that needless displays of microcosmic power become the only way to feel any level of importance.

#29 'That Guy That Had His Parents Put Up Cameras? Heres Mine. There Are More'

Solidarity on display here where one example of big mother and father rather than big brother have exercised their power in more than one bastion of privacy!

Credit: 23031

The other half the cover-photo is here and also an example of both the above and that of someone clearly a novice at this spying game. Come on now.

#30 'She's A Good Mom She Just Has Her Moments'

Although is list is in no particular order, this last example is by the unambiguous far the best to close on.

Credit: 23660

The severity of the situation aside, Our_Uniform_is_Panic clearly saw the funny side of this poorly-timed socialite-Mother and her all-important need to discuss neighborhood occurrences mid-drive to the EMERGENCY ROOM.

Now if you excuse me, I'm off to collate my own parents' ridiculousness!
