A mom has been blasted on social media for the "ridiculous" list of demands she put out in an advert for a babysitter.

A TikTok user - who goes by the handle @thatboycollins - took to the online platform to reveal a job post from a woman named Tammy who needed someone to look after her four kids "as soon as possible".

The desperate mom decided to advertise the position for $6 an hour locally and listed out some desirable and undesirable requirements that caught everyone's attention.

The advert started off well, as it read: "Babysitter needed ASAP! I need someone to watch my four kids (aged 2, 3, 5, and 7) from 12PM-6PM Monday to Friday and occasional weekends."

Tammy wrote that the successful candidate had to be over 25 years old, a great cook, and an avid cleaner - which is normal for babysitting jobs, however, the list went downhill when it mentioned that the person needed to have a Master's Degree.

The mom was also looking for a prospective babysitter who had five professional references and added outlandish requests like they couldn't have any social media accounts, tattoos, or piercings.

But some of the mom's demands were reasonable as she included that they couldn't drink, smoke, or vape," and warned that a background check and drug test "will be conducted".

"This job pays $200 a week - but you must have your own transportation to get to and from the house while also running my errands," Tammy concluded.

Upon seeing a picture of the advert on the social media platform, many users voiced their shock at what the mom was looking for.

One person simply commented: "Ridiculous!" while another user quipped that Tammy was looking for a "maid, nanny, and chef".

A third person remarked that with the Master's degree and five references requirement, the mom should "at least" pay the babysitter "$1,000".

A fourth user shared their thoughts: "What person in their [right] mind [goes] through stress and tears to get their master's degree and is able to get a good paying job just to get [paid] $6 an hour."

According to the Daily Mail, some people revealed that taking care of children shouldn't be deemed as a "traditional" job with 9-5 hours of pay as it is much more difficult than that.

"My daughter got a call to do summer child care for two six-year-old boys," one person shared. "During the interview, she realized both boys were on the spectrum and nearly non-verbal."

"She instantly felt connected to the boys and agreed to take the position - even though the mom was a single parent and could only pay $30 a day," she continued. "My daughter took the job and worked for them all summer. I wish more of us had the mindset of my 16-year-old."
