A man has responded after being accused by trolls of marrying a woman "who looks exactly like his daughter".

Appearing on the YouTube show Love Don’t Judge, Chris Chapin, 44, and his wife, Savana Chapin, 28, met four years ago when she began working for him as a hairstylist at his salon in Gilbert, Arizona.

Savana - who is 16 years younger than her husband - shared that initially, she wasn't interested in being in a relationship. Chris also revealed that at that time his life "was kind of in a tailspin" as he just filed for divorce from his previous wife.

It was only after his separation from his ex-wife that he allowed himself to spend more time with Savana and "felt there's something super special there that I had never really felt before".

At first, the couple hid their blossoming romance from their coworkers, especially since Chris’ 21-year-old daughter, Tizziana - who goes by Tizzi - also worked at the salon.

The daughter said that she was "very thrown off," by their relationship at first but has since become comfortable with her step-mother - even allowing her to join her TikTok videos.

However, Savana spoke about how a video she did with Tizzi was swarmed with disturbing messages because she "made the mistake of putting my age above where I was and [Tizzi's] age above where she was".

"It just started this big massive tornado of negative comments - most of them were geared towards Chris," she continued, adding that the majority of the users brought up the parallels between her and Tizzi.

One of the comments read: "I would be traumatized if my dad married someone who looks exactly like me OMFG," another asked: "Do you want to date your daughter?" while a third person observed: "Y’all look like sisters."

Chris spoke about the cruel remarks and said that it consisted of "anything that you can imagine, the sickest of sickest things that you could think of," adding, "We just basically got destroyed."

He opened up with viewers that despite the unfavorable reaction towards his marriage, he is very content in his relationship and refuses to let nasty comments get to him.

"They have nothing better to do with their time, they're obviously unhappy in their life," he remarked, sharing, "I found my soulmate. I definitely do feel like I won the lottery. It's definitely a privilege to call her my wife."

After getting married, the pair went on to welcome three children of their own to become a blended family of eight - including the husband's children from his previous marriage.
