A New England family has finally found their grandpa's hidden fortune after locating his hidden cashbox under attic floorboards.
Keith Willie - who describes himself as a "metal detectorist, treasure hunter, 'you lost something, I'll find it'" - explains on his YouTube channel RediscoverLost how a family had contacted him after multiple failed attempts to find a late family member's hidden fortune.
"If grandpa grew up in the great depression, there are probably tales of hidden silver certificates somewhere in the house," he explains in the video description.
After years of unsuccessful searches by both the family and contractors, the family opted to contact Willie - as they were eager to sell the property, but couldn't bring themselves to do so with a potential fortune hidden somewhere within its walls.
Watch Keith get to work in the video below:While speaking with a female family member, Willie learns that her uncle had been searching the 1950s home for years, adding that the rumored cashbox had been hidden "a long, long time ago."
After a short time in the attic, Keith - who boasts a decade of experience in treasure hunting - is quick to identify floorboards that had been cut away or pulled up, and so he gets to work.
The footage then shows him using an endoscope to search underneath the floorboards, and after less than an hour, he finds a locked money box.
Lifting the floorboards, he is able to retrieve the box and break it open - confirming the family's longtime rumors in the process.
There, right in front of them, were wads of cash and five thousand dollar bricks.
"These are not worth face value, collectors are going to want these," Keith tells the family.
"There was a total of $46,000 in bills from the 1930s and 50s - some of which were silver certificates, potentially worth significantly more than face value," he adds.
Keith ends the video with this gem of advice: "If you think that there's treasure buried or hidden in your house, before you sell it, have a professional come out and check it to make sure you're not walking away from thousands, potentially hundreds of thousands of dollars in hidden treasure."
