A cosmetic doctor has gone viral on social media this week after sharing a gross video revealing why people shouldn't use makeup wipes.

The video in question was uploaded to Instagram by Dr. Tijion Esho, founder of the Esho Clinic for cosmetics, and has him use an orange and a tube of foundation to illustrate the dermatological harm that the improper removal of makeup can do.

The footage shows the doctor squeezing the foundation onto the skin of the orange and rubbing it into the fruit's outer layer until it is covered completely and evenly.

He then uses a makeup wipe to take the foundation off, but as you can clearly see in the clip below, the majority of it still adhered to the orange despite his best efforts.

Thus, this handy visual metaphor illustrates how cosmetics can get clogged in the pores of our skin unless we wash our faces properly.

Take a look at the video in question below:

Dr. Esho captioned the post:

"Why I keep preaching to you all about make up wipes. Alternatively double cleanse using a cleanser or micellar water [...] for 60 seconds and try follow up makeup removal with moisture. [sic]"

The video has since racked up more than 1,500 reactions and nearly 200 comments from other Instagram users who appreciated Esho's sage advice.
