Woman left looking permanently upset after a botched $1,100 plastic surgery

A woman has been left devastated after a botched $1,100 (£920) cosmetic surgery procedure left her with what she describes as a "permanent frown".

Per the Daily Mail, the beauty-conscious woman - known simply by her surname Xie - recently underwent cheek fillers, but due to the procedure being botched, she now looks confused all the time. Xie told local Chinese media Zhejiang Television that she is living a cosmetic nightmare.

Ms Xie says she visited the cosmetic clinic in Hangzhou city of eastern China to undergo a facelift procedure, but was persuaded by the staff consultants to also get cheek fillers to "boost the effect".

However, Xie was horrified to discover that the surgery had left her with a constantly frowning expression - something that she was told was caused by post-surgery swelling and would that would eventually reduce.

She states that she first visited the clinic back in April to receive some non-surgical facial treatments. However, she ended up having a nose repair and brow-lift.

Xie told Zhejiang Television (translated by Daily Mail): "I had my nose done previously, but it was kind of a failure. [After the repair,] the shape of my nose looked much better than before. I thought this clinic was trustworthy."

On May 7, she returned to the clinic for a facelift operation - but the clinic staff convinced her to also get cheek injections in order to achieve the perfect look.

The Hangzhou resident said: "They told me if I do [the procedures] altogether, the effect would be much better."

She was also told by consultants that the facial fillers would look natural and require very little recovery time.

In total, Ms Xie spent nearly 20,000 yuan ($2,800/£2,300) on the two facial operations, with the cheek fillers costing her over 8,000 yuan ($1,120/£920).

But two weeks after the procedure, Xie has still been left with a permanent frown.

She said: "The corners of my eyes are being lifted upwards. I'm unhappy about the shape of my face [as well]. I look quite scary."

Xie has since demanded the clinic to give her a refund of the facial fillers.

As reported by The Sun, a manager from the beauty center - referred to only by his surname Fang - has explained that the woman's frown has been caused by swelling as a result of undergoing multiple procedures in a short period of time.

Mr Fang has therefore said that it will take a longer than normal for Ms Xie's face to return to normal. He insists that the final result has yet to be seen, and told reporters: "Once she fully recovers, it would look much nicer."

The manager also claimed that the staff members who consulted Xie were "new and inexperienced".

Fang has since told Ms Xie that the clinic will happily claim full responsibility if her face remains swollen after another month, and will provide any additional treatments she may need for free.

However, Xie has refused to receive any surgery from the clinic ever again.
