Popping the question is a nerve-wracking experience. Sure, you might think you've found the love of your life, but there's still a chance they could say no and providing all does go to plan, you want to make sure it's a moment the two of you will treasure forever by doing something special. And usually, this means something unique to you and your would-be betrothed.
Then there's the element of surprise. While most people know when they're in a relationship that could lead to marriage, the exact time of a proposal is best kept a secret, which can be tricky if you struggle to plan things. This is something which Edi Okoro knows all too well, having come up with a genius and hilarious spontaneous proposal plan.
[post_page_title]Edi's Hilarious Proposal Snaps[/post_page_title]
Taking to Facebook to share his brilliant proposal, Edi began by posting a picture of his now-fiancée's engagement ring and writing, "I can finally put this out there ... So this was how I proposed to Cally, the other story!"

"Those who have gone through this (and those who will soon find out) you want to propose in a way that speaks to you as a person and couple," Edi wrote. "Some plan a flash mob, a fancy meal, or even arrange a marry me sign."
[post_page_title]A Spontaneous Improviser[/post_page_title]
However, Edi admitted that if he tried to plan something elaborate, Cally would immediately suspect that he was about to pop the question. He wrote: "I couldn’t do this because 'Edi doesn't plan'... I'm a spontaneous improviser!"

[/MediaContent]
"This made it even more of a challenge because Cally knows this, and the moment I planned a holiday or meal she would have clocked on to what I was about to do," he said.
[post_page_title]The Moment[/post_page_title]
So Edi decided that he was just going to have to play to his spontaneous nature and decide on the right moment whenever it arose, writing: "Because of this I took the ring with me everywhere hoping the 'moment' would arise in line with my spontaneous style."

"After a month or so of waiting for the right moment," he continued, "I was sitting on the sofa admiring 'my precious' (yes I became very attached to this ring by this point) Cally almost caught me staring at the ring, and it hit me!"
[post_page_title]So Many Missed Opportunities[/post_page_title]
"All these missed opportunities mixed in with the thought - Cally doesn't know I have the ring!! I should just start documenting these moments!" he concluded, clearly chuffed with his idea.

[/MediaContent]
"This escalated quickly into trying to get as many photos of Cally with the ring without her knowing!.... yes she had no idea what I was doing in these photos!!!" he said alongside these hilarious pictures.
[post_page_title]A Month Of Almost Proposals[/post_page_title]
"The idea was to take as many photos, in more daring scenarios, until I found the perfect moment to propose, or until I got caught, at which point I would propose!" he said.

"Here are some of the photos I captured over the space of about a month before I found the right moment (this is a story in its own right)," Eli wrote.
[post_page_title]Sleeping Beauty[/post_page_title]
For some, the most romantic place in the world for them and their partner is a bed, usually early in the morning when they're snuggling up to each other.

[/MediaContent]
To be honest, this would have been quite a simplistically romantic proposal if Cally had woken up when it was taken. But needless to say, she didn't...
[post_page_title]So Daring[/post_page_title]
Edi wasn't just willing to get the ring to a safe enough distance before snapping it back from Cally either. He was also willing to pose with it beside her as she slept.

I wonder if she sensed it was nearby subconsciously and began to dream of her wedding day. That open mouth is a surefire sign she's deep in the land of nod.
[post_page_title]Some Seriously Unromantic Locations[/post_page_title]
But while getting proposed to in bed is pretty romantic, unless you happen to be a mechanic, a hardware store is probably not on your list of ideal proposal locations.

It's a good thing that the man at this till didn't notice what Edi was doing as Cally bought whatever she'd gone in for. He was playing a very dangerous game.
[post_page_title]Don't Look Behind You![/post_page_title]
The fact that Edi never got caught while taking these pictures is beyond impressive. Clearly, the guy would have made an excellent ninja back in the day.
[MediaContent]

[/MediaContent]
Can you imagine what Cally's facial expression would have looked like if she'd turned around at this very moment? I imagine it'd be somewhere between shock and confusion!
[post_page_title]Not Quite So Stealthy[/post_page_title]
You name the location, and Edi has likely got the ring out in it. I can only imagine what Cally had to say when she realized she could have been proposed to in so many places and situations!
[MediaContent]
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10156849892866032
[/MediaContent]
She was probably glad it didn't happen after a bike ride either. It's only natural these days to pose for a selfie after getting engaged and no one wants to do it while looking super sweaty.
[post_page_title]Here Comes The Bride[/post_page_title]
I mean, admittedly, Cally has no idea that she's the bride, or rather, has the opportunity to become one in the very near future.
[MediaContent]

Pushing a bike up those stairs looks like no mean feat. But hey! It looks like she's already got a dream bod and won't have to worry about losing any extra pounds for her big day.
[post_page_title]And Here Comes The Ring[/post_page_title]
How Cally didn't see it this time is beyond me. It's literally in front of her face!
[MediaContent]
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10156849893086032
[/MediaContent]
Fair play to Edi though. He must have got a thrill from flashing that admittedly gorgeous ring around Cally for so long before he finally decided to part with his "precious".
[post_page_title]Oh My...[/post_page_title]
If Cally had turned around at the wrong time, she could have had a rather pleasant/unpleasant pain in her back (depending on how she took it, regardless - this would have been a proposal gone wrong).
[MediaContent]
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10156849893766032
[/MediaContent]
At this point, the only thing Edi hasn't done is literally put the ring on Cally's face, but this photo set isn't over... Maybe he will be that bold.
[post_page_title]Selfie Time[/post_page_title]
As you've probably gathered by now, after popping the ring in a risky position, it's Edi's signature move is to take a selfie with it; eventually to show Cally just how close he came to popping the question... multiple times.
[MediaContent]
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10156849893981032
[/MediaContent]
Now, as much as we all spend too much time on our phones these days, I think Cally might be reassessing her use of tech after seeing what it distracted her from.
[post_page_title]Now She's In On The Selfie Action[/post_page_title]
I don't imagine there are many people out there who can attest to unknowingly posing with their engagement ring before they got engaged, but Cally is one of them.
[MediaContent]
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10156849894231032
[/MediaContent]
This picture, admittedly, doesn't scream, "She said yes!"
[post_page_title]He's Behind You[/post_page_title]
Aw, now this is one potential proposal location that would have actually bee quite romantic. But once again, Cally didn't turn around at the right time for Edi to drop down on one knee!
[MediaContent]
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10156849894366032
[/MediaContent]
That woman is, quite literally, glued to her phone. Just think! If she'd turned on her front-facing camera, she could have snapped or at the very least seen Edi holding the ring.
[post_page_title]At Least It's Not Her Phone This Time[/post_page_title]
When Cally decides her mind is focused on something, whether it's her phone, a bike, or as the case here a map, there's absolutely nothing that will draw her attention away from it.
[MediaContent]
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10156849894541032
[/MediaContent]
I'm pretty sure anyone else would have busted Edi for his proposal pictures by now.
[post_page_title]Edi's Taking The P*ss Now[/post_page_title]
Evidently, Edi knows that Cally's phone is her biggest distraction. Yeah, yeah. The people want riskier almost proposal snaps. We know she can't force her eyes away from its screen.
[MediaContent]
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10156849894731032
[/MediaContent]
Alright, I've seen enough of snaps like this, but thankfully, Edi was willing to ramp things up to the ultimate level.
[post_page_title]How Could She Have Missed This?![/post_page_title]
People have been using binoculars for hundreds of years to see things clearly, so the fact that Cally was able to use them and miss her ring, well, it's probably a good indication that she needs to make a trip to the opticians.
[MediaContent]
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10156849894796032
[/MediaContent]
She must have literally been kicking herself when she saw this. It's one thing to miss a ring when climbing the stairs, it's another to miss it when you're using freaking binoculars.
[post_page_title]This Could Have Been A Beach Proposal[/post_page_title]
A beach, just like a pier, is a pretty romantic place to propose, and I'm not a betting person, but I think I'd be willing to put down $100 that Cally was once again distracted by her cell phone.
[MediaContent]
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10156849894916032
[/MediaContent]
Also, why the heck are Edi and Cally lying on stones and not sand? This does not look comfortable. But hey! They seem to be having a good time...
[post_page_title]Playing With Fire[/post_page_title]
I really hope that Edi decided to frame some of the closest calls he had with Cally and her engagement ring. If they ever have kids, they'll have a good laugh looking back at these snaps!
[MediaContent]
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10156849894976032
[/MediaContent]
I can only assume she was asleep when this picture was taken.
[post_page_title]The Ultimate Risk[/post_page_title]
Edi's taken a lot of risks so far when it comes to Cally finding her engagement ring, but none quite as risky as when he went as far as to put it into her hand.
[MediaContent]
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10156849895031032
[/MediaContent]
He captioned this hilarious picture: "A challenge plus my 'brave levels' maxing out, resulted in her holding the ring for a photo."
[post_page_title]The Happy Ending[/post_page_title]
Edi eventually ended his epic proposal tale by writing: "So we did end up getting engaged, and no I didn't get caught... but how I did it is a story for another time. Stay tuned! We took this photo not long after she said YES..."

"She didn't know about this library until several weeks later..." he revealed. "My smile is a 'you know nothing Cally Read" smile.'"
