A TikToker has divided the internet after he refused to split a $4,600 check at a friend's birthday dinner.

I imagine that for a lot of us, dividing a check depends on who you're with and what you ordered, but when TikToker Vicc Gotti was asked to split the hefty bill amongst his friends, he was not amused by the idea.

The social media star - whose real name is Victor Christian - uploaded a video of an argument between several people at a restaurant after a woman's birthday dinner.

The birthday girl says in no uncertain terms that she expects her friends to cover her meal, telling Christian: "It's my f***ing birthday, why the f*** should I have to pay for something on my birthday?" to which he says: "Why should I pay for something I didn't buy?"

Watch the TikTok below:

In the clip - which has been viewed 15.9 million times - one of the friends exclaims: "I'm not splitting the bill shawty, that's crazy! You expect us to split the bill!" and then one woman, sporting a vibrant pink suit, contended: "We come out together we split the bill. Period!"

However, another disagreed and took to his feet, saying: "You got lamb chop, you got steak, look at all they got and they talk about splitting the bill. Ya'll [ordered] way too much and then want to split the bill."

Unsurprisingly, the TikTok video sparked a debate in the comments section, with many people sharing what they would do in a similar situation.

One person agreed with Christian's point of view, stating: "I guess I'm just old stool, if I invite everyone out it's 1 check and I pay. But I totally agree to pay for what you eat."

Another user chimed in: "I’m paying for what I ATEE," and a third person remarked: "Nope not paying extra..."

Meanwhile, some people were adamant that splitting the bill was the right way to go, especially for a birthday dinner. One user declared: "Wrong! I would pay for mine and part of the bill for the birthday person!"

A second person interjected: "Everyone pays [their] own bill. The birthday girl eats for free. That’s it!"

And another added: "Split the bill and everyone gets the bday girl! She shouldn’t have to pay anything."

In a follow-up video, the TikToker revealed that he and his friend, who he has known since the third grade, are now no longer on amicable terms due to the dinner incident.

Explaining the aftermath, he said: "We ended up calling the waiter over and I told him: 'Don't split nothing for me, they can split if they want to but we're not here for that."

What would you guys do in this situation?
