A mother has defended herself after she received backlash for using AirTags in order to keep track of her children.

Nothing can prepare you for having a child, especially because they consume all of your time due to them needing constant supervision.

One thing that is every parent's worst nightmare is losing their kids, but one mother has come up with a solution to keep track of them - though it has become quite controversial.

Vada Stevens from North Carolina went viral on TikTok after sharing a video of herself putting Apple AirTags on her children.

Speaking during the video, the TikToker said: "I saw a TikTok about a mom who puts Apple AirTags in bracelets on her kids and thought it was the coolest thing."

She added that she got them on Amazon and that they make a beeping sound that she uses to instruct her kids when it's time to come back.

Before this sets off alarm bells that it sounds like training a dog, Vada is way ahead of you, as that's exactly how she captioned the video - clearly joking of course.

The mother demonstrated how the tags work as she placed them on her kids, and after she pressed the button to set them off, the two children came running from the other room to see what their mom wanted.

People flocked to the comments to offer their thoughts, with most people seeing it as a great idea, as one person said: "This is the best thing. Safety 1st! Our 2 older kids have phone watches because they’re older. I will be getting these for our two younger ones."

A second person added: "This is great and yes to the harnesses too. It is the world we live in and no judgement of others matter when it comes to keeping children safe [sic]."

There were some negative comments about the mother's usage of the AirTags, but she took it all in her stride as she replied to a comment about certain comments: "Hangout a while and you’ll find some funny ones. So far the best one is I’m traumatizing them."

It's always better safe than sorry when it comes to the well-being of kids, but what are your thoughts on the usage of the AirTags?
