A mom has been slammed as "selfish" online after jumping a lengthy line for the bus by walking to the previous stop.

The incident was described on the forum Mums Net - which always seems to be a hotbed of parenting drama. Titled "Pushchair fight on a bus," the original poster detailed how she had come up with a solution to skip the queue for the bus after noticing several other mothers were waiting in line with their strollers.

"After picking my child up from her childminder today, I arrived [at] the bus stop to find two women with buggies waiting. Knowing that the driver wouldn't let three of us on, I walked round the corner to the previous stop and got on there. When it arrived at the next stop, sure enough only [one] mum was allowed on - the other was told to wait 30 minutes for the next bus," the post began.

"I was screamed at and called a c*** and a queue jumper by one mum who tried to shove me off the bus. I don't think I did anything wrong, nor did the police when they turned up after being called by the driver. What the f*** is wrong with people?" the post concluded.

In just three days, the post has received close to 700 replies, with most people agreeing that the mom had done nothing wrong.

"I'm my opinion you just did the clever thing , tough luck to the other one [sic]!" someone wrote.

"You were smarter than them. I'd have done the same," another person added.

Though, others seemed to believe the mom was being unreasonable, or that she should have at least folded down the stroller to make more room for others.

"Well you didn't do anything 'wrong' as such, and the reaction was [over the top], but I would have been annoyed if it'd been me unable to get on the bus because you'd done this and I'd had to wait another half an hour, as pp said I'd have probably put the pushchair down if possible to get on with the other two people considering I was there after them," one person stated.

"I often walk a few mins to an earlier stop if the closest one is crowded. Nothing wrong with that and it's an option open to most people easily enough. But I don't see why you couldn't all have collapsed your pushchairs and all got on," another user added.

"You were really selfish and should have folded," one critic said.

Some users had mixed feelings about the situation.

"I'm stuck between thinking that was an incredibly low thing to do and you deserved a few choice words from someone who may have already waited up to half an hour. But then I kind of think I'd have done this if it had ever occurred to me when mine were in pushchairs!! [sic]" someone chimed in.

"Ooh tough one. I would probably have done the same thing without thinking it through and then felt bad about it and folded the pram down if possible. Although mine is big and doesn't fold down very well," another user added.
