Eating raw cookie dough before baking it is one of life's simple pleasures. There is a strange satisfaction to downing something you know you're not supposed to. Cookie dough packages often even have "DO NOT CONSUME RAW COOKIE DOUGH" in big bold to remind you (as if you'd forgotten).

But now it looks like it's time to push that worry out of your mind. Toll House now has edible cookie dough. Instagram user @FamilyFoodDude posted a picture last week gripping two pints of the cookie company's latest release. He shares two flavours, Chocolate Chip and Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Monster (which appears to have added M'M's, thank god). Both pints say they're made with 100 percent real chocolate.

The Instagram user found this Toll House creation in a Florida Publix store. He posted the photo with the caption:

"Look, I’m just as excited as the next chubby little b*stard that there’s another edible cookie dough on the market. But let’s keep it a buck: All cookie dough is edible if you aren’t a jabronie. 'Is it worth salmonella poisoning?' Uh, have you ever tasted raw cookie dough? I’m here for a good time, not a long time! P.S. These are both worth a purchase but you NEED the Monster one in your life."

Toll House hasn't revealed anything about when or where you'll see your newest ice cream substitute next. Or if there will be more flavours rolling out. Me? I'd love a good edible sugar cookie dough, maybe with some rainbow sprinkles here and there.

Unless you live in Florida, you might soon have access to this danger-free cookie dough. It's currently housed in the refrigerated section in Publix stores, but I'm thinking it will be just as good (if not better) frozen? I'm getting ahead of myself. Toll House Edible Cookie Dough isn't even national yet. But have a spoon at the ready just in case.
