Yesterday came the highly anticipated news regarding Sony's new PlayStation 5 console, as fans were finally treated to visuals of the new console in all its glory.
Gone are what we might refer to as the more 'traditional' PlayStation design features - an overall boxy look and that familiar controller - replaced instead by a futuristic console with smoother finishes.
Check out this trailer for Call of Duty Modern Warfare:Not everyone loved the new design though. One Twitter user described it as looking like a WiFi router:
Yet the new console wasn't the only exciting news pertaining to the PlayStation yesterday; it also emerged that a new PlayStation Store sale had gone live, featuring hundreds of games for less than $15.
Per ComicBook.com, the sale includes big name games series including: Far Cry, Dark Souls, Kingdom Come, Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six, Dishonored, Dead Island, South Park, Metal Gear, Hello Neighbor, Pillars of Eternity and Grand Theft Auto.
Mashable reports that another save 75% sale includes titles such as Resident Evil 7, Far Cry 5, Assassin's Creed Legendary Collection and Far Cry New Dawn Deluxe Edition.
And as for the new PlayStation 5 console? Gamers can expect super fast loading times and breathtaking visuals, as well as two console options: one with an ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive and a digital edition with no disc drive. Sony wrote on a promotional trailer for the console;
"At launch, we will offer two options: a PlayStation®5 console with an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive and a PlayStation®5 Digital Edition without a disc drive. The PS5 gameplay experience will be the same, so the choice is all yours. While there are some slight differences in the look of each model, for the overall design, we wanted to deliver a console that’s bold, stunning, and unlike any previous generation of PlayStation."
Among the title announcements that came alongside the PlayStation 5 reveal yesterday was the news of two sequels to bestselling PlayStation 4 games: Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and Horizon: Forbidden West.
