Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas are soon to be married, and it's safe to say that the couple's fans are really looking forward to their special day. Their upcoming nuptials were first announced on Instagram back in October 2o17, after Turner shared an image of her own hand holding her fiancé's, bearing a gorgeous diamond engagement ring on her ring finger. The picture was simply captioned "I said yes." Awww; how adorable is that?

However, at only 21 years old at the time of the initial announcement, many people assumed that she was rushing into a major long-term commitment far too early. Perhaps they were just projecting their feelings for Sansa Stark onto her - since her most well-known character hasn't exactly had the happiest love life of all time.

Now, in a new interview with Rolling Stone, Sophie has opened up about why she decided to get engaged so young.

"I was fully preparing myself to be single for the rest of my life," she said. "I think once you’ve found the right person, you just know. I feel like I’m much older a soul than I am in age. I feel like I’ve lived enough life to know. I’ve met enough guys to know — I’ve met enough girls to know. I don’t feel 22. I feel like 27, 28."

Sophie also added that she used to have a major crush on Justin Bieber as a teen, and that Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D. B. Weiss convinced her to channel that affection into her portrayal of Sansa, who is smitten with the sociopathic Prince Joffrey, only to later discover his true nature.

Sophie stated: "[Sansa] sees the world through rose-tinted glasses at the very beginning. She is completely oblivious to who the royal family are. It’s like any Justin Bieber fan — they don’t realize Justin has his darkness about him ... David and Dan always told me, ‘Look at Joffrey as if he’s Justin Bieber and imagine that life.’ That’s the trick - how to get Sophie to act!"

She also added that fame and media exposure had taken a toll on her mental health in the past, and she had struggled with depression and anxiety. But she also explained that she had sought help for her issues, stating: "I still experience it, but I had therapy, I’m on medication, and I feel so much better. The fact that I spoke to someone changed my life."

It sounds as though Sophie has her life in a lot better order than most of her naysayers would like to believe. Let's just hope her weddings turns out better than Sansa's.
