A mom gave a brutal response when her daughter asked her why her photo was "bumped" from the family display cabinet.

Taking to TikTok, Rachel Day Frost films the display cabinet - adorned with a number of family photos - in her mom's house. However, Rachel soon noticed that her own photo appeared to be absent from the display.

"Umm... mom?" she says in the video. "Did I get bumped?"

And to make matters worse, even childhood figure Gumby is on display.

"Did I get bumped?" she continued. "How did Gumby... I'm not here."

Check out the video here:

Rachel's mom then reaches behind the framed photos at the front and points out that there is indeed a small photo of her on the cabinet right at the back.

However, if Rachel wants a more substantial presence on the cabinet, she's going to have to "get married, or be a baby," her mom savagely tells her.

Ouch!

Needless to say, plenty of people chimed in with their own hilariously awkward experiences of family photos.

One shared: "I bought my parents a 11x4 framed photo of me and my dog for Christmas. It's the only thing I bought them. That'll teach them."

Another added: "My Nana has a picture of my ex boy friend from 11 years ago on her fridge. I am now married to a completely different man."

A third wrote: "At my mother-in-law's, my husband's sisters were up on the wall but the one of my husband was hung behind the fish tank couldn't even see it."

One user recalled: "My aunt removed all pictures of me, & most of the ones she had of my kids, replaced them with her husband's kids & her pets... I'm her only niece."

This user claimed: "My mom noticed my grandma bumped me when I was 12, so she mailed her a new photo. GRANDMA MAILED IT BACK."

In the comments, Rachel later defended her mom by explaining that she had welcomed two grandchildren last year and that her brother and his girlfriend had finally tied the knot after more than a decade of dating.

She wrote: "In her defense, 2020 brought her TWO grandkids, and my brother (finally) got married after dating my sister-in-law for 13 years.

"My fiance has two kids that my parents have fully welcomed as grandkids. We simply don't have a good photo of all of us together. Photo shoot is coming soon & Helen won't have a choice."
