Parents of 22 kids reveal the mind-blowing amount of money they spend on groceries
Sue and Noel Radford, who are parents of 22 kids, have shared the shocking amount of money they spend on groceries.
Known for their Channel 5 reality show 22 Kids & Counting and their successful Radford's Pie Company, the couple's financial life is often a topic of conversation, and their grocery bills are no exception.
The Radfords’ Grocery Haul: Nearly $500 Per Visit
Last year, Sue took to her Instagram to share a picture of the family's kitchen worktops covered with Aldi shopping bags, prompting fans to guess the total cost of the grocery haul.
Many guessed around £200 ($263), but the mom-of-22 quickly corrected them, revealing that the actual total was almost double that: £375.65 ($494.17).
Despite their large family, which sees most of the kids still living at home, she has emphasized that they aren’t living extravagantly.
“We don’t claim benefits, the pie company is very successful and so is our media business,” Sue previously told The Sun. “We work hard but we’re not millionaires. The nastiness is upsetting though. We just want to be able to give our children the best possible life.”
High Costs and Big Trips
The Radfords’ finances have made headlines over the past year, especially after they were fined over their children’s school attendance, which stemmed from a $70,000 Disney World trip last year.
The extravagant holiday to Florida saw the parents spend a reported $35,245 on flights alone for their large family.
However, the dream trip was followed by a reality check: they were fined £87 ($108) per child for failing to ensure regular school attendance for four of their kids.
The trip didn’t go entirely as planned, as 24-year-old Millie Radford and her children missed the initial flight due to expired ESTA certificates, leaving Noel to stay behind and help them reapply before catching the next plane.
Meanwhile, Chloe Radford and her daughter Mia missed out on the family vacation due to the birth of her second child.
Fans who want to keep up with the Radford family's journey can catch them on their Channel 5 show, 22 Kids & Counting, which aired its seventh season last summer.
The season saw the family travel to Edinburgh, Scotland, to support long-time friends while also exploring the emotional moment when one of the children contemplates leaving home.
