A woman has taken to social media to tell a shocking story about how she claims to have turned the tables on a man who had spiked her drink on a night out.

Lily Powles, from Grimsby in Lincolnshire, explained to her followers in a now-viral tweet that a man had allegedly "robbed" her drink twice and "put something in [her] glass".

This is the dramatic moment a female sports reporter lashes out after being groped on live TV:

Lily then claims that she made sure to swap her glass with his when he went to the toilet only for her suspicions to be proved correct when she found him passed out in a puddle.

"The same lad robbed my drink twice last night, and put something in my glass when he bought me one back," she wrote on Twitter. "I swapped our glasses when he went to the toilet and later found him laid flat out in a wet puddle.

She added: "Thanks for taking one for the team whoever you are, rather u than me hun."

While many were horrified by the story, one person was skeptical, claiming it "didn't happen".

"Just didn’t happen tho did it," wrote the Twitter user.

In response to the skepticism, other users contributed to the thread to defend Lily's account of the story.

"Why is it all men saying it didn’t happen? Are they that protective of potential rapists?" one person wrote.

"Woman manages to turn the tables on an actual thief/potential rapist = guys on Twitter: “Didn’t happen tho, [sic]" another said.

"Clearly don't know how often guys spike drinks do ya?" one person asked.

"The comments from guys saying ‘didn't happen’ is why women don’t feel safe," a different user added.

One person speculated that "if the police managed to arrest every man who spiked a drink we would need triple the amount of jails."
