It doesn't matter how much time you spend on the internet these days, you're never going to be able to keep up with all the memes that pop up on social media. This year alone, we've been treated to the likes of the American Chopper argument, the yodelling kid in Walmart, and the "Is this a [blank]?" confused guy - and that's just scratching the surface of everything that's out there.

Once you go deeper, you start to discover the more obscure Spongebob memes, the bizarre animal rating memes, and - more recently - the sassy young Cardi B meme.

Don't know what we're talking about? Well, here's the picture in question:

And here's how it's been meme'd over the past few weeks:

Even Cardi herself shared one of the memes:

But this week, just as the meme was beginning to die out, it got a new lease of life after one one person shared an image of her kid sister looking remarkably similar to the five-year-old version of the Bodak Yellow rapper.

"My little sister came home crying  'they keep saying I look like cardi B' I LOST ITTTT," wrote one user named Arianna in a post that has since been retweeted more than 125,000 times.

Like any older sister obviously would, Arianna took a snap of the moment, and then proceeded to share it with millions of strangers on the internet. But, according to Arianna, her sibling's resemblance to Cardi was not her doing - in fact, she says, she and her family warned the little girl that she looked like the meme and she still went ahead and wore the outfit anyway.

She did, however, confess to making her stand in the same pose as the young Cardi meme.

However, some followers called her out on the post, claiming that it must have been staged.

But others were too busy laughing to care.

After the post started to gain some traction, Arianna tagged in Cardi B - but it looks like the rapper has yet to see it. If she does, though, she's sure to love it.
