A wealthy family is offering to pay someone $120,000 a year to care for their private island in the Bahamas.

According to the job description in the advertisement, the role of a lifetime will mean jetting off to the Caribbean to look after the gorgeous island property, as well as another extensive estate in Naples, Florida.

These properties are owned by a high-income family of four (two parents and their offspring). They currently spend most of their time on their island due to COVID but typically move between the two locales.

Aimed at couples, the job is an 8 AM start and 5 PM finish, with the occasional weekend shift as well. Other benefits include free health care and dental insurance, as well as private accommodation in each property you live and work in.

The only mandatory requirements stipulated are that the successful applicants should have prior experience in household management, a valid driver's license, and American work permits.

On the official website of domestic staff recruitment website Polo and Tweed, the official job description states:

"You should have initiative and strong self-management skill. The family do not wish to micro-manage and want to have a positive can-do attitude, self-confident, discreet, professional with excellent manners.

"You should be very well presented. A keen eye for minute detail and a real love for service and care of your professional duties."

Commenting on the role in an interview with Metro, Polo and Tweed CEO Lucy Challenger stated: "This really is a once-in-a-lifetime position, so much so that the client laughingly told me that he was tempted to apply for the job himself.

"Needless to say, we have been inundated with replies since the job went live on our website over the weekend. But we’ve yet to compile a shortlist. So we would urge interested couples to send through their CVs without delay."

So if you're interested in taking care of a little slice of paradise, then why not apply?

Just register an account with Polo and Tweed, and hit "apply" at the bottom of this page. Make sure to attach your personal details, resume, and cover letter - and you're all set. Good luck!
