A video has gone viral on social media this week, showing a surfer saving a drowning beachgoer who was pulled out to sea in Hawaii.
The footage in question was shared on Instagram by World Champion surfer Tyler Wright and shows her fellow-surfer brother Mikey Wright dashing into the sea to rescue a swimmer who was drowning nearby.
Take a look at the incident in the video below:Tyler captioned the video: "Closing out 2020 with some hero s**t by @mikeywright69."
A number of Instagram users have since commented on the video. For instance, one person wrote: "Wow that's amazing! Seriously put himself on the line for that person. [sic]"
Meanwhile, someone else chimed in: "What a bloke!!! Wish we had the footage of him scaling the fence. Her lucky day. [sic]"
A third person added: "When you go swimming on a beach, it doesn't matter how professional it is, you should know the beach info and where the current runs. [sic]"

However, after he realized that the nearby lifeguards were already preoccupied saving another person close by, Mikey decided to take matters into his own hands.

Commenting on the incident, Mikey stated:
"Then I realized it was getting pretty dangerous so I gave my wife my phone and said: 'let's go get her.'"
"She was trying to come in [over the rocks] and I said: 'we have to go down the beach.'
"We ended up grabbing a hold of her and going down with the current. I just said to her: 'don't let go and hold on.'"
So if you're taking a swim in the near future, please be careful where you swim. You might end up needing to be rescued yourself.
