A Good Morning America weatherwoman has hit back at a naysayer who slammed her for "dressing and posing like a retired stripper turned streetwalker."
Ginger Zee, 41, is the morning news show's chief meteorologist and she has been praised for clapping back at her hater.
It all started on Friday when Zee - whose full name is Ginger Renee Colonomos - directly responded to the hateful Twitter user in question by posting a picture featuring her outfit - a corporate-looking white blouse, black cardigan and knee-length skirt.
“I have been missing these harsh disses on Twitter lately,” Zee captioned the image “Thank you for the smile. Now, in this storyline you’ve invented, when was my turn to streetwalker? And how did I get into the GMA studios? If this is what a stripper turned prostitute wears … I’m out of the loop.”
Soon enough, Zee's tweet attracted hundreds of likes along with dozens of supportive comments from much kinder GMA viewers.
One wrote: "You always look awesome. Not sure what a retired stripper looks like, but I would guess this is not it."
Another added: "You look GORGEOUS! Some people need to move out of their Mom's basement."
A third wrote: "You and the vibe of your outfit exceeded the slay bar today. It was a classic, one for the books. It's about what you know though, not your outfits, which just happen to be equally on point."
A different person chimed in: "Really??? Ginger, you look magnificent! Haters are going to hate. My Mum always said that people who can’t say anything nice about you are only jealous. Ignore them all. You look absolutely beautiful and are doing a job that i would have loved to have done."
A final person added: "Funny, I was watching this morning and thought 'damn I love Ginger’s outfit today!' I’ve always admire how you handle internet hate. Keep being awesome!"
This certainly isn't the first time that Zee has been targeted by keyboard warriors, with a different viewer having compared the mom of two to a "hooker".
“Ouch I think @Ginger_Zee needs to fire her stylists (esp. makeup) It’s a tad stark and reminiscent of bad 80’s punk/hooker. A beautiful lady though … more natural would be a better way to go,” the critic wrote back in October 2020.
Zee responded: “I didn’t know a lot of ’80s punk/hookers’ as mentioned below — but unfortunately I can’t fire my stylist, makeup or hair — BECAUSE ITS ME. Y’all are fired up this Friday. I’m loving it. Also, enjoy your weekend!”
