A New Yorker has shared her story after she was left in disbelief when she found a hole behind her bathroom mirror that led to another apartment.
With around 8.4 million people, New York has the biggest population of any city in the US. So, it goes without saying that it's a very, very popular place to live.
I mean, there's Broadway, Central Park, and on a more practical note, comparatively more job opportunities - what more could you want?
Well, if one woman's TikTok posts are anything to go by, you could be left wanting an adequately built apartment - you know, one that doesn't have a huge hole leading to another creepy apartment!
Earlier this week, Samantha Hartsoe, who boasts over 685,000 followers on the social media platform, posted a four-part video series that centered around the eerie discovery.
Check out the first part here:Samantha explains in the video that no matter how high she puts the heating on, her apartment is relentlessly cold. In fact, she can even feel a cold wind blowing in her bathroom, which seems to be coming from the mirror of all places.
Samantha can then be seen removing the mirror from the wall to inspect the source of the cold air blowing into her apartment.
Check out part two below:In the second video, she discovers a large hole leading into a different room, a room that is completely separate from her apartment.
In this video, she is accompanied by two friends. One of her friends, named John, wonders if someone could be living in the other apartment.
"I have to go in and figure out what is on the other side of my bathroom," a determined Samantha remarks. (She's certainly braver than I am, because I'd have sealed that hole up with concrete by now.)
"Do you think my hips can fit through here?" she shouts out to her friends. Despite John's hesitance, Samantha is intent on exploring what's on the other side of her bathroom.
In part three, which you can check out below, she finally climbs through the hole:In preparation, she throws a pink bucket on the other side for her to use as a platform when she jumps through the hole. Then she craftily attaches a flashlight to her forehead and arms herself with a hammer.
After struggling to fit through initially, she eventually emerges on the other side.
Check out the fourth and final part here:Samantha explores the dingy, run-down apartment that she never knew was on the other side of her mirror. She sees trash bags, boxes, and vast amounts of empty space.
"Wow, this is a whole other apartment," she remarks before returning to her own apartment and explaining that her landlord will be receiving a phone call from her the next day!
Each of Samantha's videos has racked up millions of views, with her first being viewed over nine million times at the time of writing.
It's likely gotten plenty of people wondering what they have on the other side of their bathroom mirror...
