A woman is warning others not to take part in a popular poached egg hack on TikTok after it left her with painful burns.
Chantelle Conway, a TikToker from England, took part in a challenge on the app that left her with a very sore face.
She said at the start of the video: "Hi guys, just a quick message. People have been telling me about the TikTok hack - doing poached eggs in the microwave. Well, this is what's happened to me. I've literally burnt my whole face and my neck off."
Listen to Chantelle's account of the egg hack fail here:Conway added: "On Friday at 11 o'clock, I put boiling water in a cup and I popped my egg in it and put it in the microwave, say, for five to 10 seconds. Maybe longer - can't remember."
However, when she took the egg cup out, disaster struck.
She recalled: "When I took it out I put the cold spoon - just as you normally would - in the cup to take my egg out and as I put my spoon in the cup, the cold spoon shocked the water because it was so hot. So basically it's boiled, it's burst all over my face."
The content creator then concluded her post with this warning: "Please do not do that egg cup challenge!"
The video has since been viewed over 180,000 times and has racked up over 3,000 likes and a number of comments.
Many TikTok users felt sympathy for Chantelle and her mishap and sent their well wishes.
One such well-wisher wrote: "Omg hope your [sic] ok speedy recovery."
Another said: "Hope you get better soon! So frightening!"
A third offered a piece of advice: "I'm sorry this happened to you wishing you a speedy recovery! You're not supposed to use metal in boiling liquids, use wooden!!"

A different TikTok user shared a similar story: "This happened to me when I was on holiday with a spring roll. I got 3rd degree burns all over my arms."
A final user commented: "This is my worst fear when doing this, I've done it for about 2 years but I always let it sit for about 1 to 2 minutes before taking it out the microwave."
