A woman who offered to pay for a stranger's McDonald's meal in a random act of kindness was left stunned when the cashier told her the price.

TikTok user Vinisha filmed the incident which saw her and her partner visit a McDonald's drive-thru and offer to pay for the meal of the car behind them.

Before announcing that the meal came to $31.45 (£23.72), the cashier asked if they wanted anything else with their order.

As she asks to pay by debit, Vinisha's shocked face shows her slowly realizing what she has done as the cashier says: "Have a good one, that's nice of you."

Vinisha said after paying: "So I just paid for the person behind me, I didn't expect it to be $30 but hey that's my random act of kindness for the day.

"I did that and I encourage you all to pay it forward now."

Despite the meal costing the TikToker a lot more than she anticipated, her actions were widely praised on the social media website.

As per the Sun, one wrote: "Still a very nice thing to do! A kind act is a kind act."

"Good for you!" added another, while a third wrote: "Top lass."

This random act of kindness comes after a toddler borrowed their mom's cellphone earlier this year and ordered $100 worth of McDonald's.

Raissa Andrade, a 32-year-old mom from Recife, Brazil, left her phone unattended, her son Tom, four, decided to buy a banquet from the fast-food restaurant, and being a kid, there were a lot of Happy Meals purchased.

He purchased six Happy Meals, six promotional meals, ten milkshakes, eight McSundaes, eight bottles of water, and eight special offer toys.

As per Bored Panda, Raissa told local media that she had ordered food during the pandemic using her phone before and her son must have worked out how to do it from her.

However, despite ordering more than he could possibly eat, four-year-old Tom wasn't satisfied with his order and complained to his mom that he hadn't received the "yellow minion" toy he'd asked for or his apple pie.
